Re: Finding the gene switches that control psilocybin production

Tell them that you are trying to find the gene for psilocybin production in shrooms so that you are engineer a shroom that doesn't have it. Then you will seed these modified shrooms across the world as your contribution on the war on drugs. Beurocrats are suckers for these kind of pro-active plans

Why don't you just wait a few years. There are these new experimental computer/machines that will be able to read entire genomes. As soon as those come out, you can map the entire genome of every species of hallucinogenic mushroom. Then you can start engineering them to be: huge, resistant to contaminants, more potent, even glow-in-the-dark hehehe

Just slow down and let the real (no offense) scientists do the work for us.

They always do. You should have worn the oxford. hehehe

Hey, sometimes you just have to be patient and let the good things come to YOU.

BTW, you shouldn't be looking for the gene that controls psilo. production until the metabolic pathways of the mushroom are fully understood. Besides, genes only code for proteins and enzymes, which in turn produce psilo.
