Don't worry we've got weed! :potleaf::cool: Its 20% contained now, but the wildfire isn't moving towards us anymore. Woo! And its only June... Its only natural though. Some of the trees here don't grow unless the seeds get to 600 F. They have wildfires every year in the surrounding areas but in the past 80 years nothing has come this close to destroying our town. Just glad everything is okay, my friend in the valley of the butte that got burned horribly somehow magically didn't get burned :thumbup: His gardens weren't destroyed or damaged either and his pets were fine too. The worst is over :smile: There is a chance that it could come back up from the valley into the foothills if the sierra nevadas and catch fire to the forest around our town. I think we'll have the wind on our side.

Those pictures remind me of Independence Day.

Kind of funny, here in Iowa loads of people are being evacuated, losing their homes and businesses, due to an excess of water.

They had me on a road for over an hour going 5 miles an hour just to have us turned around. I wasn't allowed to go home, being new in this town I was lucky to stay at a co-workers house. I had to sneak into town today because they wouldn't let me in even though the top part of town isn't evacuated but you can't get in anywhere. I had to take a back road through the mountains for an hour on a crazy ass dirt road but I made it safely home! I couldn't believe I made it, I was in the middle of freaking nowhere. I don't understand... is there policemen everywhere telling you what you can or can't do? that sucks, i mean, EEUU sells the image of a free country, but I'll get pretty claustrophobic if i lived there.
Another thing i don't understand is the roads being closed, are they locking you all in a burning town?


It was a relief to read the dog is OK!!!

according to evan,
the cops would flock people to the entrance of the town at 1mph speeds, and the guy at the entrance of the town would tell you to turn around.

only one road was open, and it was "out of town" only.

no one was allowed back into town. period.

they obviously werent communicating with each other cause they would tell you to go a certain way to get into town and then when u got there they would tell you its closed. everyone was just too frantic and scared to work together.

now, as of today 3 of 5 roads are open, and the fire is only 20% contained, and still burning towards peoples houses up in the canyon (where its hard to fight).
ima go out one of the roads today and take pics of the massacre.

well im not much of an astronaut but i think that the lack of ozone is causing raditation to heat the planet more, however i believe as the ice caps melt we will see more and more rain and fucked up weather as the heat and high humiditys calid into a clodbuster of medeling magnificent glory

purhaps we will be throw off this planet in all the commotoin and will land back in our starting place, saturn with the reminents of the once great star fleets now rest in pieces surrounding the planet

They got it under control after 535 more engines showed up last night from all over Cali including San Diego. Looks like they should have the fire out in a couple of days.
