When is it legally ok to kill someone

I would like to know if anyone could tell me what legally would have to happen before I had the right to kill someone. I am referring to things like, them robbing me or having the person start shit with me etc.



Can anyone help me out?

depends on your state. my state for instance passed the castle doctrine, giving me full right to fight back with deadly force without having to attempt retreat first. if i feel my life or the life of anyone around me is in danger or they are in danger of severe bodily harm, on my property on in my vehicle, and even out in public in some instances, i can shoot to kill.

many states still do not have this doctrine, and you have the responsibility to retreat and take all avenues possible before shooting someone. and some places you cannot have a gun at all. such as D.C. in which case, you cannot protect yourself with a gun.
