Missionaries
    #7628751 - 11/13/07 01:54 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Both my niece and nephew want to be third-world missionaries. I am certain it is because they were specifically chosen by God and has nothing to do with a lifetime of home-schooling and having the Bible being jammed down their throats in liberal rural Georgia.

Proof once again of free will.

I have a very skeptical cousin who wants to save me from the spaghetti monster. His heart is in the right place. However I am in Its' wet soft boiled grip slipping out of consensus linearity and headed for fierce baptism in the cosmic boiling water. Only a pure spark will remain, and I doubt it will be me. My cousin tells me to turn to macaroni.

What is wrong with missionaries? They have a long and distinguished history of showing love and compassion while helping others find salvation in faith.

My mom's side of the family is largely fundamentalist Christian. One of my cousins on that side of the family just came back from his service in Iraq. His brother, in the meantime, has converted to Buddhism and become a park ranger.

Well, my brother's a mechanical engineer. That's about as close to a scientist as I can think of. No satanists that I'm aware of.
