Appreciation of Cannabis (share your strongest trip)
    #7331242 -

You gotta love this plant!

I've had a couple of psychedelic weed experiences lately that have been quite valuable to me. For those of you who have not yet experienced a hallucinogenic or psychedelic cannabis experience yet, believe me when I say that a good, higher-dose experience from a quality bud can give you experiences that rival the intensity and psychedelia of mild to moderate psilocybin experiences. Of course, the nature of the experiences are quite a bit different.

(My Experiences: If you don't wish to read them, skip to end)
Let me explain a few of the things I've experienced in my past couple of trips. I listened to BT's latest and boldest album, This Binary Universe, which is a definite departure from some of his older, mainstream stuff. It contains a wild and hypnotic mix of highly spatial synthesizers, guitars, altered real-life sounds, piano, and excellent beats. So yes, I highly recommend it. During this one instance, I sat on a beanbag with my music player, and experienced a beautiful synaesthesic experience, seeing a growing purple mushroom that released purple spores, a rainbow and a gold paved road, and lots of vivid colors. Also, I became acutely aware of how talented the Beatles were, and I took notice of some of the very fun basslines.

Another thing I noticed is how inmeshed I was with the music. I realized that parts of my face, and other parts of my body were spasmodically twitching in rhythym with the music.

Last night was the strongest cannabis experience yet. I consumed one St. Pauli beer (for a more relaxed experience) before taking a total of 5 hits of my bud. When I again traversed to my beanbag and put on the music, I realized I was reaching a new level of cannabis-space. To make the story short, I was bombarded with a mesmerizing spectacle of spinning fractals, complex and vividly-colored geometric shapes rotating through a highly 3d psychescape. All this time, the sensations were becoming so powerful, that I began to become a little anxious, but I reminded myself that I need to let these feelings flow through me instead of letting them consume me (I've experienced PTSD and general anxiety in the past year, so this has been a tough learning experience). I felt like I was perhaps going to throw up, and I felt like I was shivering and shaking, but instead of trying to suppress all of this, I let it happen. I tried to stretch out on the couch as these vibrational shivers coursed through me with a certain intensity. It wasn't very pleasant, but it was rewarding when I made it through it without panicking, and none the worse for wear. I came through that night with a few wonderful insights, and even a couple potentially feasible invention ideas. So this was my experience.

(End of Personal Experiences)

Something I've noticed about cannabis, and which has also been resonated a few times on this board, is that sometimes it takes a significant psychedelic experience with something like mushrooms, dmt, mescaline, or lsd, to in some way unlock the psychedelic door of the cannabis experience. I never experienced it this way until after some heavy mushroom experiences, and then immediately after, cannabis was a whole new ball of wax for me. Something I wrote in my journal while on cannabis was that, to me, the psychedelic experience is like "a vacation from the superficial facades and monotonies of the daily conscious and self-conscious self, and to a truly raw experience of who we are beneath those layers."

I would like to hear from those of you who appreciate cannabis as much as I do! It is my fervent hope that this plant; this carrier of divine chemistry, will some day be unchained by our governments, and be available to those who could benefit from its healing qualities, its psychedelic beauty, and even the multitude of industrial purposes it can serve. This plant is truly wonderful!

Right on! I've been wondering if things like that are unique to me, or if others experience some of these things, too. It's interesting to hear you get that! Sometimes if I allow it to happen, though, the twitches can turn into movements that take over my body and cause me to motion and dance with music. But that eventually got too tiring, so I try to keep it down to little rhythmic spasms.

I've had one particualrly strong pot experience where I could see what rays of light were made of, and it was like all these mechanical little arms folding in and out.

The strongest experience with grass that I've had was the very first time I smoked. I was 15, and got the weed from my older sister. She said "smoke a joint, it'll do". But I smoked about 4! My lungs were on fire!!!

I was walking down the beach, and suddenly forgot who or where I was!
I stood there, with no recollection of my life -total amnesia for about 10 seconds. Then it came back, and I realized I loved pot.
I've smoked everyday since.

Dude yesss that happens to me almost every time I smoke (I'm so lucky!). And I also get really really good weed, so vape hits (light-bulb :\) usually trip me, bong hits are ever stronger! I can definitely see why Cannabis is considered a psychedelic.

I used to like it until I started to get panic attacks and generalized anxiety. I don't know exactly if these things had to do with the circumstances of my life or from the smoking too much pot or both, but I don't smoke anymore. Cheers if you do though, support your local drug dealer!

Hmm I'd think it's what's going on in your life: the problem sometime is that instead of making you forget your problems, it intensifies them. I found that when I trip I usually worry about being caught by my dad. My problem is that I don't have a place of my own. But when I do I won't worry about it and the trips would be nicer.

Oh yeah this one time I was tripping BALLS on just plain-ole weed, and this tree, which had all the branches cut, had a swing on it. To me it looked like a many-handed woman with a kid crawling all over her.

O aaaannnd I noticed that if you're listening with ear-buds, that's a trip all by itself! Especially if you're outdoors because you see all these things but you can't hear them, you can only hear the music. But you don't realize you have anything on your ears ('cause the ear-buds are so snug) and you're just tripping haha

I only get psychedelic effects from very high dosages of high quality marijuana. The only experience i can remember that happened recently is when my good friend got a hold of a pound of hash plant (excellent strain, check it out if you can find it) and we sat in his dorm and smoked about an eighth between three of us in around an hour. The smoking was comprised of a large joint, 3 bowl packs, and 2 bong packs. After this sesh i was looking outside at the back wall of a brick building maybe 100 yards away and the bricks started to "flow" upwards and down in columns. Also i was staring at the woodgrain on his dresser and it as well was flowing. Colors were much more lush, and i my train of thought was similar to that while on shrooms or lsd. One point to note, i had been indulging in hallucinagens often in the weeks prior to this. I find that if i have been tripping recently, as in last few weeks/days i can make some of these things happen by simply relaxing and tunning my mind into that tripping state, "focusing" on the woodgrain ie. i can sometimes make it flow even while sober.

I'm actually tripping right now on just weed and it's great! I'm listening to music and it feels like I'm in a kinda shell and I'm looking outside and outside is space and there are weird patterns and figures and whatnot. It's flipping great!

Wow, that sounds like a great trip opensaysme! I also have noticed that correlation of recent hallucinogen use to powerful weed trips. I have had *some* OEVs on weed, but no flowing quite yet; mostly 3d illusional shapes out of th environment, and colors. Oh, but I do remember once that my face melted in the mirror. It tends to like doing that a lot on psychedelic trips. No sooner do I look in the mirror, than my face starts melting and warping.

Haha yeah I just took a BIG bong hit just now and I'm triiiiping. When I look at things it looks like they're buildings, and I see tiny dots (people) walking around everywhere like there's a town where everything is, and objects are buildings and whatnot.

I've had many very cool trips on cannabis, but only lately do I start to realize this plant is as strong as shrooms. And it has also the same tolerance! In order for me to get a good cannabis trip I need to stay sober for a week up to a month.

I used to smoke weed daily, but it is only recently I realized that it would be the same like eating shrooms daily. I'm just wasting the plant for nothing.. it has so much more to offer than just the euphoric and relaxing effects..
