Appreciation of Cannabis (share your strongest trip)
    #7331242 -

You gotta love this plant!

I've had a couple of psychedelic weed experiences lately that have been quite valuable to me. For those of you who have not yet experienced a hallucinogenic or psychedelic cannabis experience yet, believe me when I say that a good, higher-dose experience from a quality bud can give you experiences that rival the intensity and psychedelia of mild to moderate psilocybin experiences. Of course, the nature of the experiences are quite a bit different.

(My Experiences: If you don't wish to read them, skip to end)
Let me explain a few of the things I've experienced in my past couple of trips. I listened to BT's latest and boldest album, This Binary Universe, which is a definite departure from some of his older, mainstream stuff. It contains a wild and hypnotic mix of highly spatial synthesizers, guitars, altered real-life sounds, piano, and excellent beats. So yes, I highly recommend it. During this one instance, I sat on a beanbag with my music player, and experienced a beautiful synaesthesic experience, seeing a growing purple mushroom that released purple spores, a rainbow and a gold paved road, and lots of vivid colors. Also, I became acutely aware of how talented the Beatles were, and I took notice of some of the very fun basslines.

Another thing I noticed is how inmeshed I was with the music. I realized that parts of my face, and other parts of my body were spasmodically twitching in rhythym with the music.

Last night was the strongest cannabis experience yet. I consumed one St. Pauli beer (for a more relaxed experience) before taking a total of 5 hits of my bud. When I again traversed to my beanbag and put on the music, I realized I was reaching a new level of cannabis-space. To make the story short, I was bombarded with a mesmerizing spectacle of spinning fractals, complex and vividly-colored geometric shapes rotating through a highly 3d psychescape. All this time, the sensations were becoming so powerful, that I began to become a little anxious, but I reminded myself that I need to let these feelings flow through me instead of letting them consume me (I've experienced PTSD and general anxiety in the past year, so this has been a tough learning experience). I felt like I was perhaps going to throw up, and I felt like I was shivering and shaking, but instead of trying to suppress all of this, I let it happen. I tried to stretch out on the couch as these vibrational shivers coursed through me with a certain intensity. It wasn't very pleasant, but it was rewarding when I made it through it without panicking, and none the worse for wear. I came through that night with a few wonderful insights, and even a couple potentially feasible invention ideas. So this was my experience.

(End of Personal Experiences)

Something I've noticed about cannabis, and which has also been resonated a few times on this board, is that sometimes it takes a significant psychedelic experience with something like mushrooms, dmt, mescaline, or lsd, to in some way unlock the psychedelic door of the cannabis experience. I never experienced it this way until after some heavy mushroom experiences, and then immediately after, cannabis was a whole new ball of wax for me. Something I wrote in my journal while on cannabis was that, to me, the psychedelic experience is like "a vacation from the superficial facades and monotonies of the daily conscious and self-conscious self, and to a truly raw experience of who we are beneath those layers."

I would like to hear from those of you who appreciate cannabis as much as I do! It is my fervent hope that this plant; this carrier of divine chemistry, will some day be unchained by our governments, and be available to those who could benefit from its healing qualities, its psychedelic beauty, and even the multitude of industrial purposes it can serve. This plant is truly wonderful!

Right on! I've been wondering if things like that are unique to me, or if others experience some of these things, too. It's interesting to hear you get that! Sometimes if I allow it to happen, though, the twitches can turn into movements that take over my body and cause me to motion and dance with music. But that eventually got too tiring, so I try to keep it down to little rhythmic spasms.

The strongest experience with grass that I've had was the very first time I smoked. I was 15, and got the weed from my older sister. She said "smoke a joint, it'll do". But I smoked about 4! My lungs were on fire!!!

I was walking down the beach, and suddenly forgot who or where I was!
I stood there, with no recollection of my life -total amnesia for about 10 seconds. Then it came back, and I realized I loved pot.
I've smoked everyday since.

Dude yesss that happens to me almost every time I smoke (I'm so lucky!). And I also get really really good weed, so vape hits (light-bulb :\) usually trip me, bong hits are ever stronger! I can definitely see why Cannabis is considered a psychedelic.

I used to like it until I started to get panic attacks and generalized anxiety. I don't know exactly if these things had to do with the circumstances of my life or from the smoking too much pot or both, but I don't smoke anymore. Cheers if you do though, support your local drug dealer!

Hmm I'd think it's what's going on in your life: the problem sometime is that instead of making you forget your problems, it intensifies them. I found that when I trip I usually worry about being caught by my dad. My problem is that I don't have a place of my own. But when I do I won't worry about it and the trips would be nicer.

O aaaannnd I noticed that if you're listening with ear-buds, that's a trip all by itself! Especially if you're outdoors because you see all these things but you can't hear them, you can only hear the music. But you don't realize you have anything on your ears ('cause the ear-buds are so snug) and you're just tripping haha

I only get psychedelic effects from very high dosages of high quality marijuana. The only experience i can remember that happened recently is when my good friend got a hold of a pound of hash plant (excellent strain, check it out if you can find it) and we sat in his dorm and smoked about an eighth between three of us in around an hour. The smoking was comprised of a large joint, 3 bowl packs, and 2 bong packs. After this sesh i was looking outside at the back wall of a brick building maybe 100 yards away and the bricks started to "flow" upwards and down in columns. Also i was staring at the woodgrain on his dresser and it as well was flowing. Colors were much more lush, and i my train of thought was similar to that while on shrooms or lsd. One point to note, i had been indulging in hallucinagens often in the weeks prior to this. I find that if i have been tripping recently, as in last few weeks/days i can make some of these things happen by simply relaxing and tunning my mind into that tripping state, "focusing" on the woodgrain ie. i can sometimes make it flow even while sober.

I'm actually tripping right now on just weed and it's great! I'm listening to music and it feels like I'm in a kinda shell and I'm looking outside and outside is space and there are weird patterns and figures and whatnot. It's flipping great!

Wow, that sounds like a great trip opensaysme! I also have noticed that correlation of recent hallucinogen use to powerful weed trips. I have had *some* OEVs on weed, but no flowing quite yet; mostly 3d illusional shapes out of th environment, and colors. Oh, but I do remember once that my face melted in the mirror. It tends to like doing that a lot on psychedelic trips. No sooner do I look in the mirror, than my face starts melting and warping.

I've had many very cool trips on cannabis, but only lately do I start to realize this plant is as strong as shrooms. And it has also the same tolerance! In order for me to get a good cannabis trip I need to stay sober for a week up to a month.

I used to smoke weed daily, but it is only recently I realized that it would be the same like eating shrooms daily. I'm just wasting the plant for nothing.. it has so much more to offer than just the euphoric and relaxing effects..

This. My appreciation for cannabis makes me upset I used it everyday and although I still use it very often it's not a daily routine.

on a solo cruise through the woods of New England, i was ripping a mini bong myself jamming out hard to phish. I had the most euphoric feeling ever, and suddenly i felt my great grandfather in my backseat, resting his hand on my shoulder, he was gently patting it, telling me that "I was going to be okay, and I was going to do just fine in this world, and not to worry" almost instantly, he was gone, and i felt SOMETHING, rush inside of me, and i lost my breathe for about 4 to 5 seconds. Just like that I felt a weight lift and my breathe was phlowin again. Insane experience

After not smoking for a few days while on vacation, I met an Irish head with dreads to his waist, who sold me some home grown heads. When I smoked it, at night on the road, colors began passing me in waves, I could see the air passing by, like I was in hyperspace on Harrison Ford's falcon, you know kinda? I then began losing my mind, couldn't drive, thought everyone I saw was a cop. I continued to have visual distortions and a widening visual field, so much that i began convincing myself that this guy had acid on his hands, that got on the weed, so when i touched it, i got acid on my hands, and then accidently had my fingers near my mouth. Which, in a sober state, would be a very very outlandish idea.

Weed is so powerful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marijuana can be used for both, daily life and spiritual practices. To say that weed is wasted, when used daily, is far gone, IMO.

Marijuana has completely helped my digestive track, I pass better, no gas, and I can eat anything. When not on marijuana, if i ate a cheeseburger I would hurt for weeks.

But used more sparingly, you will have much more profound and stronger experiences.

There is no wrong way to eat a recees!!!!!

I trip almost every time I smoke. Could be that Im only smoking incredible dank or that my previous shroom and lsd trips or kind of accessible in my highs. This weed I have right now is some serious stuff. 1 hit gets you a nice high, 3 hits gets you super stoned, and 6+ gets you over high and pretty much trippin, almost feels like an oldschool high. I love to mess around with visuals while high, makes weed much more interesting. :stoned::eek:

Yeah ive never "tripped" per say on bud but have had a speedy psycadelic feeling. But it has to be a strong sativa not indica. Read the Cannabibles by Jason King, he has smoked thousands of diff strains and says he gets a trippy high off of dank sativas.

I mean, marijuana can be a deep experience, and I've certainly had strong experiences. But nothing about hallucinating, and complex patterns. I do get visuals like every time yes, but it'll just be colors(usually green and red) in some strange unorganized patterns. Believe me though, I've had enough to the point that I've just passed out, and no crazy trips.

HOWEVER, the more I experience other psychedelics the more intense my sessions becomes. It's almost like I can access that state of mind again.

Never really 'tripped' from weed...I do get OEV and CEV off strong bud sometimes, but I've always had CEV's before I had taken any drug (not sure If that's HPPD or just a strong imagination)

I do remember one time though, smoking up with a friend at the park. I took a huge drag from a J then apparently blacked out, then my friend said I was speaking weird languages for a few minutes. Still don't know what happened there...?

Word...me too. There was a point in my life where I was a "pro" and it just wasn't fun...I was smoking weed just to feel normal.

Then I took a huge break, and I smoke once or twice a week, tops. Recently, I was tripping so hard off weed...that I could not control myself at all ahahaha.

First, I came home from being downtown, I had bought a new pair of headphones for my computer. Before I got to my house, I smoked a very thin jay in my neighborhood, and then I drove the 500meters to my house...In the two minutes it took me to get into the garage, I was already high as hell. Colors became very vivid and everything started to take on that "perfect movie-set type look", and I felt really spacey. I went inside, and I was going to open my headphones to take them out of the package. I ended up cutting the cord of the headphones with the scissors I was so baked!!! Then, I went upstairs to my room and decided I would try and fix them, so I plugged in my soldering iron and let it heat up. After about ten minutes of leaving it on I came back into my room and started stripping the wires for the headphones. Then I was going to reach for the soldering iron and lost all depth perception, and burned my hand! My hand shot up really fast and hit my bookshelf above my desk...I didn't even know what happened for a minute or two, I didn't feel any pain...my arm and hand just reacted to the 400ยบ soldering iron lol. The burn was HUGE! I had to put ice on it right away...after about two minutes it started to hurt. Then, I decided I would return the headphones the next day, but I kept forgetting where everything was! Ahahaa...my short-term memory was like, 5 seconds long, tops. I stayed stoned for about 3 hours rofl. Off the smallest toothpick joint. Needless to say, it was some chronic weed. I still have some of that stuff...and just yesterday I went and picked up some Bubblegum x Ramulan which is even stronger...though I've yet to smoke some of it, it just looks so frosty.

So that's my story.

After last night I now have a huge appreciation of cannabis.

I was a 2 bowl a day smoker for nearly a decade up until last August, and would only smoke the best. I decided to lay off to get rid of some of the tolerance that I have built over the years.

Last night was the first time since August 08 and I was not prepared for  what was to happen. I had about 1/2 a blunt and figured It would be like when I first started years ago.

Boy was I wrong... I was in no way prepared for what I had done to myself.

I was a little scared actually on how high I was.

The second time I smoked weed,

my bro came back from California in 2002 or 2003 with his friend. My bro knew I got caught smoking weed my first time. We we're leaving some place in the countryside of Tennessee in the summer at night time and when we reach the bottom of the hill we park to the side and he turns around and says "You wanna smoke some weed?". Hearing that my mind kind of blacked out and I barely mumbled sure.

I was in the back seat, my bro was driving and his friend was in passenger side. He packs a bowl of some of the dankest shit I've ever smelled along with some hash, nothing like the crap I got last time. These guys were experienced smokers and had very high tolerance of the medical mj and I took as many hits as them. I was pretty high at the time and I thought I was at my limit so we drive off and my bro starts playing a Busta Rhymes CD. As we drove on the music seemed to be taking a life of its own and my body started moving to the beat. With my head laying back in the seat my spine seemed to "loop" with the music and I open my eyes and realize that I am hallucinating. I see that me and some tribe people are dancing around a fire in the middle of a jungle in africa with the chieftan in the middle singing the lyrics.

It was soooo freaking crazy. I never had such an intensely profound trip like that with any drug ever, even tho I've taken shrooms and some legal highs like salvia, lsa, mescaline, etc.

Anyone who wants to make their weed experience more psychedelic should try preloading on Piracetam a couple hours before smoking.

I've gotten CEVs of cartoon characters and whatever I was thinking typed out on my internal field of view: OEVs of things morphing in the dark are also quite possible.  It also appears to clear up the mental fogginess of the high and replaces it with almost a creative lucidity.
