but interesting too ~ in tantra the goal is to spread the sexual energy to other energy centers or chakras. In the case of abrupt stiflement of ejaculation, it stays right in the root chakra and manifests as a vehicle of adrenaline

I don't see how you can use sexual energy for anything except sexual activities. For some time after ejaculating my ability to get an erection is diminished, but during that same time I can think about other things than female body parts for a while. I find calming the mind and practicing mindfulness to be much harder when my consciousness is filled with hallucinations of naked women.

I am sure it is a myth,
but
the idea of redirecting interest in sex into interest in what you are dealing with can be taken further.
using energy means you have less left over.
so, the involvement with any mating dance
consumes while it delights.
all the same
normally I would hesitate to decline the good opportunities.

The whole concept is nonsense as the ONLY way a body can store energy is through adding fat (and a little bit of muscle), i.e. putting on weight.

There is no psychic battery located anywhere in the human body.

Do they have more or less energy than those who engage in sex or masturbation regularly?

maybe in storing "energy" yes, but you have to acknowledge the fact that one can feel a physical surge of increased "energy" without eating anything, such as the fight or flight of a good scare and the adrenaline that comes with it.

i know very little on the subject but i'm guessing this would not apply to prepubescent children because their hormones and such would not even be creating this "energy."

in my limited experience it does work.

edit: I'm not going to comment on the chi aspect.

in myself it was more along the lines of my body naturally wants to have sex. during sex it wants to ejaculate, thats my signal that the desire has been satisfy ed. encouraging the sexual drive, while taking away the signal that its been satisfied produces mental energy(which i suppose translates into physical energy).
stay aware and you can siphon off the frustrated energy and turn into into whatever positive mental energy you think you need.

also the whole process of encouraging sexual thoughts without gratifying them, and keeping myself aware of my conscious intentions (obviously if your subconscious is unsatisfied it can turn mean. think about when you're fasting, if you're not focused on the positive side of it, its pretty easy to get bitchy) built up a daily feeling of sensuality (getting more pleasure from the senses) that normally i lack.

the techniques work for me when they work for me, which is to say, when i do them right

i have absurdly low sexual vitality but should i happen to actually have vigor and apply them without ejaculating i can get very intense results that are satisfying.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just thought I should point out that it's sexual (energy) sublimation which brahmacharya and other esoteric celibacy methods require of the practitioner. I think mere repression will take you so far in terms of conserving energy.

However, without properly sublimating it, e.g. via qigong or other esoteric energy exercises, the excess energy will just dissipate via constant lusty thoughts, nocturnal emissions, extreme rage(!)etc etc etc. In lots of ways.
Plus, repression can be psychologically disturbing and depressing.

Just what I have come across during my studies.

Anyone who says normal sex without learning seminal retention etc doesn't lead to loss of energy is deceiving themselves. why else is it that guys roll over and fall asleep after a few sex sessions? Why do guys seem less energised by sex than females? Also, what's with the hunger cravings after sex if it's not using up stored reserves of something or the other?

There's some biologists that'll give a more comprehensive account, but it's simple.

If you don't cum, you're not offloading that testosterone. Testosterone makes people more agressive, energetic and confident.

You can still have your orgasm and keep that testosterone. If you don't like the taste of your ejaculate you have two choices:

1: Change your diet, it's a good litmus test. If it tastes bad, then you're not getting enough fruit.
2: Don't eat it, and accept that you're going to live longer as a result. Just with less agression and confidence.

So you are telling me that there is no difference in the way you feel physically emotionally or mentally if it has been 3 minutes since your last orgasm or 3 weeks? Common Sense and experience prove that no sex/orgasm for a man leads to increased horniness and "antsyness," which is a type of emotional energy that is opposite of  lethargic satisfaction that one gets post-coitus. Don't tell me you don't know what I am talking about.

Moreover science (your best friend) has shown us that testosterone levels drop after orgasm, and that testosterone plays a massive role in the function of desire and motivation. Individuals who lack testosterone outright (which is very rare) lack the desire or "energy" required to do anything whatsoever.

Humans aren't merely oven-like systems in which there are two types of energy, potential and kinetic. Hormones and sexuality play a large role in how we behave.

Falling asleep after ejaculation has nothing to do with a "loss of energy," and everything to do with the hormones released during orgasm.  Article

Some of these hormones are antagonists to testosterone, which is why testosterone levels drop temporarily.  It is theorized that the post-coital "cocktail" encourages pair-bonding and restorative rest.  There is no evidence which suggests that there is a negative impact resulting from ejaculation.  In fact, research has shown that more-frequent sexual activity will raise the 'baseline' testosterone level, and less-frequent activity (or celibacy) will lower it.

Semen contains minute amounts of testosterone, so  consuming your ejaculate will not conserve testosterone, nor does ejaculating "offload" testosterone.  As I said in my previous post, orgasm causes the release of a hormonal "cocktail" which reacts with free testosterone in your bloodstream.  After the refractory period has elapsed, levels of free testosterone are restored to whatever is normal for the individual.

FYI: Eating raw carrots and celery is the best way to improve the taste and odor of your semen.  :thumbup:

I would think that the only way you'd save energy is by saving actual energy. In other words, the term they used in my biology class to refer to biological energy needed to perform the workings of the body on a molecular level.
