underground raves

the scene is picking up momentum around virginia,dc, and maryland. yay!

alot of people i know go to virginfest, bonaroo, and so on. it just seems like a clusterfuck of commerical music aimed tpwards the hippie/indy demographic. pretty lame. i like my 5 dollar entry fees and lyricless repetitive beats.

festivals. pshhhh.

We thought the scene was taking hold in the midwest (wisconsin), we booked CZR and get poor results from supporters. Its like evryone says the scene is dead, but they wont do their part in supporting it buy paying ($5) to go see motherfuckin CZR! This month we have Steve Smooth, hopefully the turnout is better.

i'm not much a fan of techno
if i were going for music, i'd much rather go to a good festival opposed to a rave
but then again, i'm not much of a fan of techno

but i would not mind going to a rave
i heard someone say there are two main branches of raves.
the one's that use lsd, and the one's that use mdma
you can probably guess which i'd rather attend

Outdoor dance parties, or 'doofs' I think would be much more fun than warehouse 'raves' and shit like that. I've never been to anything in like a warehouse or anything though, but all the outdoor parties I went to were badass. Mostly they played goa and psytrance, they were like mini-fests with techno I guess.

Anyway, outdoor psytrance festivals are awesome. I guess they would be under the 'lsd rave' classification.

i think psytrance party poeple would be offended if you said they were raves.

most of the psytrance poeple i know are a little snobby about thier musical taste though.

the first time i walked into a psytrance party i immediately asked someone where i could put my bag. the guy said "do you go to alot of raves?" i said "no". and he said "anywhere you like".
he was implying ravers steal.

edit: can we get some motherfucking jungle massives over here on the east coast? the largest drum and bass only party i've been to had maybe 300 poeple... thats tiny! i want to be lost in a sea of 10,000 poeple going completely nuts!

festivals are probably the best thing ever. ppl can talk all the shit about how bonnaroo sold out but they still get great bands to play so idk what ppl are thinking. just hating on stuff they've yet to experience.

There's a lot of lame ppl in the day at roo but all the cool, twisted fuckers are out at night. i love it.

festivals, in general. If you don't like music festivals then you've either never been to one or umm don't have a soul... maybe a culmination of the two.

For me, I enjoy all music. I really like bluegrass, techno, funk especially, what the fuck ever, rap I don't care. There is no bad music, just shitty artists that give whatever genre a shitty name.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Especially the bluegrass and funk parts.

Unforunatley, everyone thinks it can never be what it was when say... Drop Bass was around (for my area). And it never will be if they think that. People need to support the scene if they want to revive it.
