 but seriously it seems that humans have tried to exempt themselves from the natural cycle of things. and now it seems that vegans are just readjusting the christian morals to bring equality for animals we must bring them to our level.

for we ourselves fear that world of death. and could not bear the thought of it. refused to return to the endless cycle. broke free from it into a cage.

can you dig it?!?

From the perspective of nature, we are just Garbage in Garbage out.

I followed you from the beginning.

Eating animal flesh is seen by this particular outlook as for our convenience. So, the vegan stops eating meat, goes out of his way to do whatever he can to stay healthy without meat. He denies this convenience for the sanctity of all animal life. A humans life is not sacrificed for the sake of convenience, so why should an animals?

Quote:
In 2003 there were 6,328,000 car accidents in the US. There were 2.9 million injuries and 42,643 people were killed in auto accidents.

What if the speed limits were lowered to 35 miles throughout the country? How many lives could be saved in this way? Human life IS a matter of convenience, yet we pretend it isn't.

OK now get this

The total death count from global terrorism from 1968-2006 is 35,023.

We let George W piss all over our constitutional rights and bring us to war for the sake of life, yet we cant just drive below 40mph for the same sanctity.

We should ditch these delusional squeaky clean outlooks and come to terms with reality. You cant be ethically perfect. Thats life. This kind of thinking does so much more harm than good.

Global terrorism

Car accidents

And I hope nobody takes this as an attack on Vegans, or good intention in general. But when this philosophy reaches a social level where laws are instituted, this cant be our policy.

Let's say ALL humans give up beef and dairy products and cows are freed from the slavery of pulling plows or carts. They are then returned to the wild where they will be unable to survive or relegated to zoos. The cow population drops some 98-99% in a few short years thus 'preserving' the sanctity of the now near-extinct bovine species and thus pleasing The OverCow.

Actually, many vegans do it to stay healthy BY avoiding meat.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

Yes, I understand this, I was vegetarian for a part of my life. This is what contributed to my realization that the eating of flesh is luxury, or convenience, which i still believe.

In order for life to survive, it must eat other life. It is a fact of life on this planet. However, IMO, it is more ethically justifiable to eat life that is non-sentient, and therefore probably not aware of itself or its death, as opposed to eating sentient beings who are aware of the pain and suffering created through the process of mass producing and then killing livestock. If I were to eat meat, it would definitely be of the free-range, cruelty-free variety.

It's all relative, you see.

Besides which, I have noticed many benefits for body and mind through not eating meat.

Our physiology suggests we evolved as a herbivore.

Carnivores have shorter intestines, enabling the meat to be flushed out sooner. Man's intestine is much longer about six times the body length and more suitable for vegan food. The longer meat stays in our guts, the more toxic it becomes, and more at risk for colon cancer.

Carnivores have sharp and pointed teeth, useful for shredding teeth, whereas humans have flat incisors and small canine teeth, making it suitable for chewing roots, stems.

I suggest you tell our cousins, the chimps, to stop eating meat as they are being 'unnatural'.
