I've only had one trip (out of 8 or so now) where I experienced any substantial visual effects, and they didn't last particularly long. Every other time I either get none or very little.

On Saturday night ate about 12 of the freshly picked subs I posted in this thread (I picked them that day) and only had very minor visuals (moving patterns in wood and floor tiles, not much else). Should I be expecting more than this??? Is there a chance I'm tolerant to the visuals or that they affect me in a different way? Or am I just getting shitty shrooms???

I'd like to hear about this juice method.

Oh yeah, I forgot to reply as it didn't seem that anyone was interested.

I did indeed try this method and I have mixed feelings as to whether it worked. I did get some quite intense visuals at the beginning (faces on tv morphing into others, patterns everywhere, etc.) but wouldn't say that it was significantly different from other trips I've had. Also, after about 2 hours after drinking the blackcurracnt juice concentrate (which is a fair amount if you read the forum) I started to feel pretty uncomfortable in the stomache, not like itnese pain, just the feeling like I was bloated or something.

Overall it was a good trip but I don't think i'll be doing the blackcurrant juice method again. I'm definately gonna try the lemon juce method on its own (grind up shrooms and soak in a shot of lemon juice for about 20mins, then dose) next time, because I suspect this may be the reason that it worked a bit better.

What the crap??  You serious?

I get the blueing, that's obvious enough, but the color of the cap??  I've picked dry subs before but can't remember them looking like that, they were much more of a copper colour (just checked my pics don't have any of them either :frown: ).  The first pic... that cap is so brown, although it looks slightly closer to a dried sub in the second pic.

Up to you man.  The others think its a sub, and to be honest after another look the second pic does resemble one.  Got any more there? Take a pic and put it up.  Otherwise, like otto said, when you go to get some more get a sporeprint, should be dark purplish, and post some more pics.  You will get an answer in 30 mins here...

I went looking in some parkland nearby and believe I came up empty :frown: I managed to snag a couple of fruitbodies that closely resemble a sub, but the blue staining is hardly noticable compared to cubes cultivated indoors. I've taken a couple of pictures and have put a bit of the mycelium on agar in case it's the real deal. Feedback would be grand.

Yeah they are subs mate, cap colour is right, stem is a nice white colour and i can see blue staining in both specimens. Take a spore print just too be sure.

Thanks! I was thrown by the colour change as it's nowhere near as good as what I've seen on indoor cubensis. I had already set a cap down for printing, will check it tomorrow.

Nah that wasn't actualy me... but did i really have to tell you that?

Anyways got some more photos. Also found another patch a bit away but mushies have a diferent coulor. Hope these clear things up...

You need some pictures of stems and gills or at least a description to get a half decent ID, and a spore print to be sure. If you're 100% sure they are the same as your picked specimens then with a purple print they should be subs.

Can't ID without that info but the first patch looks sub-like (but could easily be something else, like Galerina - Look for blueing on white stems - Like my avatar), the second patch definitely looks like Stropharia aurantiaca which is not active and may be poisonous to an extent.

Yeah patch 1 are all subs, your first pic in patch two look like subs, i can see a white stem on some of them but you will have to clarify that as the picture is a bit blurry. As undergrounder said the red ones are stropharia's.

Just checked out some of my patches today and there are shrooms fucking everywhere. Also moved house on the weekend to find subs growing along the creek just over the back fence which has mulch spread along either side for at least a few kilometers. There must be bloody thousands popping up from what Ive seen so far

I have been lucky enough to have the last three days off and have been hunting for all of them! Into the dandenongs and through the Yarra ranges, but have came up with nothing! Nothing but a bad knee and an habit to look at the floor when I walk now.

I have tried looking in scrub land beneath Eucalyptus trees, in pine needles under pine trees and in wetlands areas but nothing! I must be looking in the wrong areas? So frustrated!

I try to walk along existing pathways and only steer off if I'm feeling hopefully. Any advice you may have about what kind of areas I should be looking for or how I may have some more luck spotting some Subs would be so great

First pic looks like subs, pretty crap pic though so take some spore prints and make sure.  Last three are all of stropharia auranciata, not edible unless you like vomiting.

dammit i gotta go out and pic some, still got my ground up lot from last year so haven't bothered picking this year.  last few pics have motivated me, i'll go out this weekend :yesnod:

these wernt the onli 1 these size there we tryed bringing 3 back 1 broke ther was as least another 20 going tob e this size or BIGGER they were fucking huge pins OMG SO FUCING BIG!!
