I cant stand people who use the fact that they like to eat meat as an excuse for ignorance. I think all people should weigh the pros and cons of eating meat before making a conscious decision to do so.

Too many times (and a few times from my own girlfriend) have i gotten the anwser "i dont care because it tastes good." Do these people even know what eating meat does to the earth?

for those of you that dont know it takes a SHITLOAD more land to make a unit of meat than it does to make that same unit of vegetable. Now take into account that there are over 6 BILLION people in the world. can we even really afford the luxory of meat anymore?

I abosutely hate the anwsers i get from people when i talk about vegetarianism. it disgusts me. I know this sounds like hippie crap, and i guess it sort of is. but that fact that it sets that way in some people's minds shouldnt change the facts. thats what disturbs me.

people are so caught up in this "it tastes good so who cares what its doing to other people and the earth," stuff that they fail to actually think about the issue themselves. It seems to me that they are so caught up in the whole out of sight out mind mentality that is so easy to fall into, that they forget and completely shut out the facts so they dont think about anything when they eat meat.

I edited this paragraph due to phrasing issues: im not saying that all people that eat meat are ignorant bad people, im saying that they should really think about their choice of diet. people on this sight are always so pro-drugs, and we've been told out whole lives that those things we put into our body bad, but still keep an open mind about it; why have our minds any more closed when thinking about eating?

too many people are ignorant about it in my eyes. and im sure there are a lot of people reading this that are thinking "this guy is just trying to get me to not eat meat," to which i say, blow me. thats not what im trying to do. im trying to stop people from completely shutting out the idea of vegetarianism. i want people to actually take into account things that are going on when you take a bite of steak rather than just thinking, man this sure tastes good.

if you decide to stop eating meat, thats good for you, and if you decide to continue eating meat (or if you are vegetarian already and decide to start eating meat) thats fine with me as well. just please, stop this whole i dont care because it doesnt affect me crap. im sick of it. most people make a conscious effort to find out about things they do before they do it. please dont let eating be an exception. take everything into account, because if you dont, you are feeding yourself propaganda for the most part.

so next time you hear some one preaching vegetarianism to you, you can kick him in the balls i dont care, but just know what your doing for the love of whatever entity or lack there of that you believe in or not.
