Isn't it just crazy....

....to think
that every decision we make,
every action we decide to take,
every experience we take part of
in every moment that passes by,
endlessly ripples throughout eternity,
forever.....

Radiating from the precise point in time
and from that precisely aligned dimensional origin
that "it's" specific moment occurred,
or was created....


We all already know it.... I realize this....
But, now that you are aware of that at this very moment,
I hereby hold you responsible for your own ripples....!

According to your synopsis you are but a ripple from another source.

The part I bolded above is why you disagree, in which **I think** you have misread my intended point....

What I said was that the decisions/actions/experiences we create, cause the ripples that echo into eternity....
In effect, we cause the ripples that may effect others, and we can be effected by the ripples that others create....
How someone else's created ripples effect you is determined by the size and type of wave,
as well as how those waves effect how you create your own ripples from that collision point, and in moving forward....
Ultimately, just being hit by any wave that is created by someone else, no matter how big, has some sort of effect on everything....

I am sure that there are some that choose to become the effect of other's created ripples....
....but they would actually be riding the waves of those ripples, they wouldn't actually become the ripple itself....

Consider this plausible scenario:

You're driving somewhere and as you approach an intersection with a yellow traffic light with enough time to go through. You decide to stop instead. Because of this, you're delayed approaching a turn that you would otherwise have reached a couple of minutes earlier.

As you slow for your turn, you also slow a guy in the car behind you who is then caught by the next red light.

Had you gone on through the initial yellow, the guy would have made the intersection after your turn on green, been hit by a truck running the light, and killed.

Imagine the ripples that death would have caused and the ongoing counter-ripples and echoes going forward. That guy might have gone on to discover a cure for cancer had you traversed your yellow light instead of stopping.

Everything we do spreads out effects. Scientists who study Chaos Theory call this the Butterfly Effect because a single butterfly flapping its wings in Africa can cause a disturbance of air molecules whose collisions then diverge from where they would have otherwise gone. This can cause or prevent a hurricane months or years later half way around the world.

Like balls on a billiard table whose ultimate resting position are extraordinarily sensitive to the tiniest changes in the angle of the initial strike of the cue ball, reality is as sensitive to the tiniest changes in our actions.

It makes it seem like all of everything we do is "important" because of all the effects that ALL of those little butterfly wings (us) -
can be responsible for once they(we) make their(our) waves, and then those ripples run their course....
Once a wave is set free, there is no possible way of stopping it from having effects for the rest of time.... 
Even if it was just a mere silent thought in your head..... 
As you said, it may just make a subtle time change for something you are yet to do....

I don't know how far reaching our man made waves/ripples go from our planet,
but the fact that man has put stuff out into space (signals and devices) will forever have an effect/impact on the universe -
and we may never know how significant those actions will be for ourselves,
or for someone/something else in the universe....

In my head, I picture a geometric 2D plane (representing a slice of a moment) getting pelted by different sized water droplets,
causing 3 dimensional hollow half spheres radiating from the impact point (epicenter) as "ripples" (on only one side of the plane - time moving forward)....
Now start stacking new planes (on the sphere side of the previous effected plane) with more droplet impacts,
which have now also been directly effected by the previous plane's growing spheres.... 
Now add about a billion more new planes and droplet impacts, all interacting with all of the previous; drops, spheres,
and effected drops and spheres, now smoosh them all together like a deck of playing cards....

We will just say that a billion (1,000,000,000) playing cards equates to ten seconds, just for the sake of having numbers....
I am pretty sure that it wouldn't take long for the possibilities to start pushing the boundaries of infinity....    :smile:

the magic happens when ripples cross and make interference.
you could say that spirit is of the higher order,
not the primary ripples at all (matter) but the events contingent upon the crossover of ripples.
the meetings of matter,
the comings together and splittings apart.
these are where our mystery thickens.

spirit needs to take care of matter, as it is derived from matter.
as for ripples extending to infinity, don't count on it.
energy dissipates, and the primary ripples fade.

the interference patterns have a different way of enduring - culture.

Well, unfortunately we can never know the subtle rippling results of any of our actions, so it's just as likely that scratching your nose will cause a deadly tornado next year as you stabbing your neighbor will prevent one. :shrug:

This renders the discussion entirely academic.

So, I aim to make good ripples and hope none of them ultimately have bad effects.

Have we created? Or do we think we create. (This is what I think Gomp was saying sometimes)

Are we causing ripples or are we merely reflections of existing ripples.

Somebody (I think it was David Bohm) said that the tinyest molecule holds all the information of the macrocosm so that all us little microcosms are spinning around in in paths pre-determined. This touches 'free-will' of which people have varying ideas.

Well I could agree that Napoleon or Hitler rode a ripple, but I'm thinking that the course of the ripple was/is predetermined. Perhaps they were co-erced to ride or maybe they rode out of free-will.

as for ripples extending to infinity, don't count on it.
energy dissipates, and the primary ripples fade.

But the changed trajectories of events do extend out to infinity.

Imagine two perfectly frictionless billiard tables set up with the balls in exactly the same position. Hit both cue balls at two almost-identical angles.

The evolution of the positions of the balls will initially appear similar because the difference in the initial impact angles was so tiny. But as time passes, each collision amplifies that initial difference. Eventually the tiny difference in the initial angle will cause a complete divergence of the positions between the two tables.

As that divergence grows, the angles of subsequent collisions grow causing further divergence causing further differences in subsequent angles and so on forever into infinity.
