lowes funny but sketchy

I went to lowes to see if the had any lye. But first I went and got a few containers of other chems.

Then I asked a person who worked there if they carried red devil lye. He asked what its used for and I said I had no idea. What I meant was I have no idea what its advertised purpose is (because there are so many). He said they didn't carry it, but asked someone anyway.

He came back saying he didn't think so. So I continued to search just in case. I noticed an officer behind me or beside me a few times. But he was never looking at me and never truly trailed me that I noticed. I still felt sketchy because if you ask for lye with a cart with a few chems, and then a cop could have been keeping an eye on you, its kind of odd.

I was never confronted on anything but felt like an idiot for wording things that could be interpreted wrong. I totally forget that its such a meth scare to cities. And the last thing I need is to be a suspect for the last thing I would ever want to do.

Haha, definitely not. But one of the reasons everything happened so sketchy is that I forgot that it was used in meth labs.

I am amazed everyone else seems to know.

Do they ever track plates, I don't need anyone knocking on my door because I asked for drain cleaner, when I didn't know how the product was sold.

you're an idiot

this is why you research what each and every chemical needed is used for for legal, applicable purposes (guessing dmt or mesc. extraction?) and you never buy more than one at a time...even if this means you have to go to 5 different stores or plan it out a month ahead of time

I agree. In fact I had in mind what I was going to say I needed it for. But then he asked its brand application and I had no clue.

I feel my ignorance was in not knowing it was used in such a thing as meth labs. Then I can be looked at in all sorts of wrong ways.

I wouldn't get all paranoid just because I bought some common item that is used in some shady stuff sometimes.

Well see thats what I was thinking. I figured, if it is an item then I can go but it. It is rediculous that I have to plan so hard to get something legal. But because I guess it is so watched and sketchy I then thought maybe I was taking it too lightly. As in maybe they do investigate these things. So I figured I would ask because I am sure people know.

It would be rediculous for them to investigate anyone who looked "different" and asked for a now non shelved item. But if they needed to crack down on labs, they might have crazy policies.

Do you think that these chemicals are not watched? Even though they are for sale in a chain store, especially with the meth boom of the last 5-10 years, leo would love to bust somebody, even if they weren't cooking meth, who bought a few or all of the needed chemicals on one ticket; not to mention if he didn't purchase them with cash.

I did with cash. Luckily. And I only got naphtha. But again my mistake was buying a few containers (they were rediculously small, everything else had varied sizes of containers).

Demius, I agree with what you say. But do you think buyiung one, and asking for another is enough for investigation? Thats what I found to be just such a rediculous concept. But then again...

not necessarily, but, personally, I wouldn't go back into that lowe's looking for chemicals or anything remotely possibly pseudo-legal

the one fool-proof excuse I've found is "my mom said she needed some" or "my grandfather said he needed it" accompanied by a shrug

but I dunno if that'd work too well with chems

I've often times given the drug/explosive answer to "what's it used for?"
I mean if I wanna kill my wife with explosive meth then just let me make the
