Investigate the local Psytrance scene. You'll find what you're looking for.

The rave scene went down hill in 1995.

Psh,clubs around here are filled with really bad hip-hop and reggaeton.I hate the music scene here in NJ,VERY mainstream!

If I had the money,I would open up my own place with music that I think deserves to be listened to.Psytrance, ambient, acid jazz, trip hop, downtemp would be heavily played

Psy isn't about clubs it's about all weekend bush parties.

Though some clubs do play psy and prog. Try brown alley or ace morning.

I sent you a PM with a link you'll find handy. Just register then check out the Melbourne events forum.

You're talking to a shuffler right here.

I try, I can also do jumpstyle (me and a mate go duo). My shuffle is rusty, but my running man is tops.

PSYTRANCE/GOA parties are totally different than trance/hardcore. There's usually a lot to look at and the music has a sort of throbbing beat that builds up over time. The sounds mixed in are very unique. It's hard to describe. If you want to travel they have parties out in the desert in all sorts of exotic locations that go on for several days. It's meant for literally that, to bring yourself to a trancelike state, and not just from taking drugs. Hallucinogen and Juno Reactor are some of the popular artists you may probably be able to find tracks of if you wan to get a taste. I saw Hallucinogen live several years back. Totally awesome...
