I haven't really ever stolen anything but would like to i just don't have the balls.
It's ok to steal from big stores, they're greedy shits anyway.

Once you steal from a store it'll be that much easier to steal from a person. You don't want to build a pattern of thievery.

Stealing from a store drives business overhead up, which in turns drives prices up. We as consumers pay the ultimate price for thievery and it hits us hard in the pocket. I stole a candy bar once when I was a kid, but got caught by the store manager. I learned a hard lesson. As an adult I am better educated about the risks that are associated with stealing and they aren't just the legal ramifications.

totally Wronguy! the costs can be much broader than the direct $$. What about respect for other's property, respect for society (no that doesn't mean you agree with everything.....). The mere thought of shoplifting suggests a lack of respect (and yes as Wronguy....I did the same thing, also got caught, and have tried to learn a lesson from that.....). Make better choices (not necessarily right or wrong choices - that is a decision for you to make - what is right and wrong for your chosen path), your life will thank you.

Used to be into it for a while in my younger days. I did regular and "hit and run style" where we would just go in, grab a bunch of goods and walk straight out the door with it... not even trying to hide it. That's the easier way if you're fast.

Anyways, I haven't been into this stuff in ages.

Theft is theft. Prices are driven higher by both types of thefts, regardless of which one is more prevalent.

prices are also diven higher by transportation costs, of course when gas prices dropped by $1/gallon the costs of goods remained high. do you think that if shoplifting and employee theft were stopped that the costs would be reduced?

One nice way is if you got a friend, and he baught something and its a reasonably LARGE shop, if he buys something, well, after he comes out with whatever he baught and the TILL SLIP, you go in with the tillslip and go grab another of whatever the hell he baught.
Two for the price of one... :laugh:

Yes, but only to a certain point. As you pointed out, prices are driven by more than the cost of catching shoplifters.
