i hear you, personally i thought once of getting a specific tattoo, not to be cool or anything like that, but because what i had in mind at that time actually had sentimental value to me.

however i later realized that its value will always remain in my mind and thus there was no dire need to exteriorize it onto my skin. end of story. :smirk:

Nope. I cut everyone else much more slack than I do myself. I hold myself to high standards, and often berate myself for minor infractions.

It is so much easier to see the struggles that others are involved in, and realize that they are doing their best, than it is to recognize the same in myself.

I've fucked up so many opportunites and done so many stupid things. My body is weak and obese, my mind holds nothing of value, and I am not always coherent in speech.

Theres a lot not to like about me.

What a grand opportunity to accept yourself unconditionally. You have everything you need for starting on the warriors path. :mushroom2:

I accept myself like a paranoid schizophrenic accepts his own delusions.

I'm just one delusion in the greater mind, one voice among many other screaming ones.

That's the answer I'm looking for. Unconditional self acceptance.

It really is all we have going for us. Why not accept things the way they are and make the best of it. It's lots easier once you get the hang of it. But it does take practice like any skill.

There is always room for change
But I appreciate the acceptance of oneself, even if it is not the highest standard
One said, one can only really accept what one knows. So I can accept that I don't know what to accept of me  I accept my imperfectness, my values and my openness for the different.
I don't have any real concept of myself as I appreciate the moment too much to be lost in too many concepts, especially about myself.
I accept that I am good enough for me.
Sorry, if I walked away from the expectations of your question. Perhaps I am just ranting.

I accept my imperfectness,

I have found that this is the first step to any kind of emotional health. To the extent that one can accept themselves in all their imperfections and messiness, that is the extent to which we can move forward on our spiritual quest. I would add that this is not as easy as it seems, when much of our programming is unconscious at times. I may say I love myself unconditionally but the test is do I act it and speak it.

No, not really. I wish I would though. I truly do. But it’s simpler to compensate with personal delusions of grandeur.

I definatly do not act and speak it, however I say that I do. I guess its almost like sometimes I don't even know what acting and speaking it is. My beliefs must not be solid enough yet to truly know that I have a concrete center to always project. It's just that I change my mind so much, at one moment I am accepting, but two days later, I have changed.

What has convinced you that a state of imperfection exists. We are all perfect just as we are.

Re: Do you accept yourself. [Re: Huehuecoyotl]

No, currently I hate myself and surroundings.

I need to break out of these chains of comfort without emotionally hurting anyone else (mainly, my broke-ass, in-debt, cant-afford-shit, leaching mom [yet, I still love her too much :frown:]). And that cant be done. I feel trapped because my earnings go to others and I feel unappreciated. It hurts to live with people who are oblivious to any sort of inner truth or inner strength. I feel engulfed in in a water of weakness. And what is worse? My job consumes my time, but I need the money and job benefits.

I want to cry, and then I want to fly before I die. Instead I wait for nothing. I am placing myself in the infinite loop of death, with full awareness of what I am doing.

What the hell should I do?

Does acceptance require you to like it? If not, how can one NOT accept oneself?

It's not a matter of inperfection, it is one of happiness and freeing oneself from ones programming.
