For me TM is cool. He had the courage to speak about psychedelics while we were all scoring and hiding. He had the courage to take the really high doses alone in the dark while we were eating a gram and watching television. He took the time to wonder what this is all about and developed his theories and expound while we were mouthing quotes.

Knock him all you like but now show us what you got?

Without Terence McKenna, I wouldn't be where I am today; wouldn't have sought out and had some of the amazing experiences I've had.  Many of his theories are far out and probably wrong, but a lot of what he says is rational and downright fascinating.  His analysis of modern society cuts through a lot of the bullshit that I think many are afraid to cut through - everyone has prejudices, and his may have happened to be in favor of Weirdness and against Eastern religion or religious ideology of any kind.  Say what you will about his theories, but his lectures struck a deep nerve with me (and with MANY other people) and catalyzed my spiritual journey.  For that I will always be thankful.

(And his quirky voice is endearing :tongue: )

i dont know many of his lectures, but True Hallucinations and Food of the Gods in particular are reallly intresting.
Sometimes i feel like hes right about the theory about how drugs are atleast partially responsible for the evolotion of us humans

Listening to him talk is like watching fractals trace across the sky. And he does it all smoothly, eloquently, and with a delightful delivery, in about 56 minute intervals.

the people are going to love this!
(and many did!)
I prefer carlos casteneda to obtain
mystic entertainment in more digestible format
that is intentionally less pedantically packaged.
