Need help in Physical/Mental forum.

I know this doesn't belong in here, but I was hoping to get some opinions from some of you guys in here, seeing as I really respect msot of the people in here and highly value your opinions.

Schizophrenics in heavy cases are distinct, in that the person displays multiply personalities, a person can even have up to 10 to 20 personalities, the whole lower than usual living standard is also a sure sign, IMO I don't think you have it, most Schizos are depressed and they do display some sort of social anxiety, I think much of the symptoms can be attributed to being just weak, health wise, and not keeping up with themselves to the point that they entertain such self-disclosure in which it becomes dillusional, be careful with the labels, if at all possiblity don't diagnosis yourself with such labels as schizophrenic, bi-polor, manic depressed, these are the classic quack labels, they are illnesses, but much of this is self-induced attitude.

Now that you posted this in P_S forum, I'll address the spirtual side, if your schizo it may be that you are partially spirtually possessed, meaning other personality types are trying to run you physcial being, I'd stay away from all suspected bad spirtual vibes, and promote sometype of spirtual healing,

Also if you are schizo there is some good prescription medication out there that can clear this stuff up, so u may want to go see a doctor, if its really extreme.

Where did you get this info from? I have 2 friends that take (sadly) medication to treat diagnosed schitzophrenia... neither of them have any alternative personalities or valences.

i think oots of people are quick to diagnose themselves as schitzophrenic, because it is rare, and it has a stigma of having savant qualities. So many times I hear people proudly proclaim that they have ADHD/schizophrenia/OCD because it makes them "unique" in some fucked up way..... much the same way someone would proclaim that they have a third testicle.

both of my friends go on and off their medication in cycles... they are called anti-psychotics, but in actuality they are complete mind numbing and personality dulling drugs which on more than one occasion, both (who dont know each other) have used the phrase "trapped in a box" to describe how they feel on the drug.
All creativity is stripped from them.

Each time they go into their schitzo episodes, their eyes are dialated, just like someone who is tripping. I looked for studies done to rule out my theory about schitzophrenia having something to do with the pinneal gland and the creation of DMT or the chemical which neutralizes DMT in our brain... but there was only one "study" i found which really didnt do anything but state that they found no correlation... it had no scientific backing.

While the schtzophrenic drug sales market isn't that great, there is still a financial gain to be had for anti-psychotic off label use. Drugs such as lithium have been prescribed for a wide variety of "diagnosed mental disorders", and by maintaining the cause of schitzophrenia as a mystery they can legally keep these very harsh drugs in production and on the pharmacist's shelves for off-label usage.
I haven't even researched this aspect, but I am willing to bet that if one looked hard enough they could find statistics that show drugs passed for schitzo use are sold more often as off-label than their actual intended uses.

You are confusing Schizophrenia with Multiple Personality Disorder. People usually do this because of media misrepresentation of schizophrenics which leads to negative stigma and other unhealthy associations.

-Schizophrenia: a state characterized by the coexistence of contradictory or incompatible elements

I think displaying multiple personalities falls into this category, because usually the other personalities are in contradiction health wise to the true person that exists within us which makes them incompatible elements, again you can call it a different label, but what I'm describing is brought on very similar in respects to social isolation, hallucinations, disorganized speech, it is essentially the same disorder if you look at this definition and the symptoms that describe schizophrenia, also I was describing an extreme case, not a mild case.

I don't know if every scenario is similar, in one sense its all preconceived by imagination, and you would say at this point it was delusional self conjured thought process, it is exactly that, but spirituality in the subjective mind, we literally create or conjure our own demons, but see demons are fake, but being a fake, being a lie, being unauthentic is how demons work, they don't need validation for existence for their effectiveness. If you look at the discovery channel and you see people acting all demon possessed on one of them documentaries, its all acting out a role, it is the most silliest thing there is, but they believe it, and belief is all it needs....., its complicating to explain what I'm exactly talking about, I have seen it first hand, so I do understand alot more than people think,

Medications

As for medications, being fully impaired on pain pills without any specific dosage requirements, is a sure way to make the symptoms worse, many people abuse their prescription's, but if you get the right prescription, and you follow the directions to the T, they can have dramatic results, in which the person will clear right up, but sometimes people don't give a shit, and they go ahead and act out their stupid role, in being the helpless victim, where they can collect social security checks, get free pills, have plenty of sympathy , and have a quack who's in the business to confirm all your notions of your illness.

If this person isn't confused enough, you're response ought to push him over the edge. You have no idea what you're talking about - schizophrenia has nothing to do with multiple personalities, i.e., dissociative disorder. As to "quack labels," I'd say that telling someone from a PC that they're "spiritually possessed" is about as quack as quack can be.
The last thing you said is the only useful thing - to see a doctor. Hey, if you're genuinely trying to help someone, cut through the bulls**t and be helpful for crying out loud.

I'll tell you what, I am a licensed mental health professional, and there is no way that I would attempt to assess and diagnose a mental disorder on the basis of a subject commenting on DSM criteria. That would be irresponsible and unethical not to mention inaccurate. A clinical interview or two, face-to-face, would be the minimum type of procedure short of standardized testing. It does seem that you are describing 'flight-of-ideas' and some cognitive disorganisation, but do yourself a favor and see a licensed professional. See if anyone offers a brief no-fee consultation to assess whether you're comfortable with the therapist. It doesn't have to be an M.D. psychiatrist - I'm not - but if I think an individual needs medication I'll refer to a psychiatrist with my recommendations. Med choice is up to the M.D. Orthomolecular psychiatrists will recommend mega-vitamin therapy before psychoactive drugs. Hey, if you needed straight-up medical advice, I would hope you would not come to The Shroomery for it. Any physician on the forums would tell you the same thing.

Go take care of your mental health man.

Symptoms of Dissociative Disorder formerly known as MPD

People with Dissociative Disorders may experience any of the following: depression, mood swings, suicidal tendencies, sleep disorders (insomnia, night terrors, and sleep walking), panic attacks and phobias (flashbacks, reactions to stimuli or "triggers"), alcohol and drug abuse, compulsions and rituals, psychotic-like symptoms (including auditory and visual hallucinations), and eating disorders. In addition, individuals with Dissociative Disorders can experience headaches, amnesias, time loss, trances, and "out of body experiences." Some people with Dissociative Disorders have a tendency toward self-persecution, self-sabotage, and even violence (both self-inflicted and outwardly directed).


Characteristic symptoms of Schizophrenia:

* delusions
* hallucinations
* disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence)
* grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
* negative symptoms, i.e., affective flattening, alogia, or avolition. Note: Only one symptom is required if delusions are bizarre or hallucinations consist of a voice keeping up a running commentary on the person's behavior or thoughts, or two or more voices conversing with each other.

Ok heres the symptoms of both DID and Schizophrenia that I located: I see similarities, Psychosis, delusions, hallucinations, voices conversing

and there are many different categories of each, but all these are labels to describe a generalized set of symptoms, there is no clear cut determination of an exact diagnosis of each of these, each case is different for each person,

the person I knew who had multiple personalities had more symptoms of a schizophrenic, he didn't really have an identity crisis which is characterized by DID, he basically heard voices and were conversing with them,

the word ritual implies a spiritual side of it, and this person I knew was into demonic rituals, which had a strong influence on his personalities, these spirits you can't see with a sober mind, but their conversing in that persons head, so I'm saying there is definite correlation there, whether you believe in spirits or not

again these are a bunch interlaping and inter-fusing quack labels to describe a persons hardships, there is no clear cut and definitive disease in each

FISH OIL. western diet lacks in it . IT WILL save you. has saved me from alot of the stuff u talked aboout.. . get some good fish oil take up to 6 a day.. . everyday...
multi vitamins are the shit too...

to be perfectly honest, this "sickness" that I might have isn't affecting my daily life, seeing as i don't seek out social gatherings and such anyways, but i am just worried if it progresses to delusional behavior where i begin to retract from reality all together.

That may be your opinion that there are no discretye mental disorders, but in fact there are, and treating a Dissociative (which I have) is different than treating a schizophrenic (which I have). It is particularly difficult when both disorders are present together (which I've seen in a middle school child) and parents do not pursue treatment, but instead hold bogus exorcisms. Not all exorcisms are bogus, and neither are all cases of possession, but one needs to 'use the right tool for the right job.' I once took part in an impromptu exorcism in an assistant principal's office with a store-front minister, two parents, and a boy with sickle-cell anemia who was 'sickling' in his brain and having transient psychotic episodes because of it. Fortunately, the parents took him for medical treatment as well as the spiritual treatment. It was not a case of spirit possession.

It is NOT helpful to suggest these types of things to frightened and suffering individuals, which is my point - especially on an internet forum. If one wants to help someone, and one is not trained to make diagnosis, nor have any experience with such matters, it is unethical to hold oneself out as someone who can. How would you feel if an easily influenced individual freaked out and the freak-out resulted in serious self-harm or death? Forget your feelings - what would have been your responsibility and what consequences do you think you'd incur (if not legally, how about emotionally, morally, karmically)?

Mental disease labels are not "quack" any more than physical disease labels are. Typhoid is NOT cholera. They might be the same to you, or maybe not. Maybe you can 'grok' microbes, but you cannot grok non-material phenomena.
