Black and Yellow morel

Hi everyone

I do have Black Morel cultures (in slants) bought a few years ago from Western Biological (B.C., Canada). Does someone knows if I have a chance to grow them in symbiosis with my young pear, apple and prune trees. I would like to try my slush inoculation techniques.
What other kind of inoculation techniques could be used, if its possible to grow them with these trees?

A few months ago I did received 2 Yellow Morel cultures on plate from a super guy here on the shroomery, but got problem to contact him again.
Probably due to the plane travel the agars were upside down in the plate. One was dead and the other one regain vigor giving a lot of sclerotia.
The agar is black. I would like to get a good agar recipe to transfer this mycelium on other plates and to keep it in slants in my gene bank collection.
What could be this black agar recipe?
Does someone know a technique to grow that type of morel outdoor?

If I were to try to grow morels outdoors I would:
1) Get your "activated charcoal"
2a) Get some ammonia
2b) Or get Urea + Ammonium phosphate (aka yeast nutrients) from
from a store that sells home brewing supplies
3) Get some dextrose or starch

And put these things in a hole,
in the woods.
Right Now! In the early Fall.
and inoculate the surface about an inch down with your morel culture.

Do you have an idea what would be a good agar recipe for the Yellow Morel?
And a substrate for subsequent transfers?

basic mea with yeast and charcole.

liquid. I would use malt, urea and yeast.

When the agar turns black like that its called the Maillard reaction.

Do to enzymes created by the mycelia. keeping cultures free of this is needed for a healthy culture. Its like swiming in your own feces do you really wanna do that?

So transfering the culture is needed.


Spawning around the trees with sawdust or grain might work. I heard of people getting abundant fruits from dumping the mushroom wash water out in their orchard.
