Well this is just wierd. My shrooms are small and their viels are near to detatching. One shroom is about 1cm tall and the cap is almost concave I fan the FC 3-4 times a day, give them sufficient light, misting and i also dunked the cake b4 fruiting. Diagnosis?

was a good pinset too

Size is related to moisture content. You can use a syringe to inject a few cc's directly into the cake. I wouldn't give more than 1cc in each of three or four places. RR

how long is ages? too long spent colonizing can eat up nutrients that would have otherwise been put towards fruits.

that looks like a bruise.
all i can say is give it some more time, just because a few are opening up small doesnt mean that they are all going to be dwarfs.

like pets who resemble their masters, mushrooms often resemble their cultivators.
haha no but really i agree with the moisture assessment, and your theory as to why the dunk was ineffective sounds logical too. when those guys finish up being small and retarded, pick em off and try another dunk before the second flush. you might distrupt the surface of the myc during picking just enough so that moisture can get IN the cake this time
