The end of the mayan long-count calendar wasn't figured out until many years after Terence's experiences at La Chorrera... As Mckenna did not 'invent' the Timewave during the La Chorrera period, it is disingenuous to reference that era instead the actual development some 15 years later or so.
Besides, without showing how the Mayan calendar has been linked to one single prophecy; it has no more weight or meaning than any other method of marking time.
And this brings us back yet again to the absolutely ridiculous notion that the Mayans were more concerned about the fate and well-being of 21st century Westeners than their own demise some 500 years ago.

The 2012: Midori, triple sec, and ipecac.
It's green, sour, and it's not going to go down.
WOW! This was definitely one of the funniest and cleverest things I've read today in my browsing, thank you for the laugh! Still laughing lol

In reference to the Christianity part: Doesn't the Bible state somewhere that "man knows not the hour" when Christ will return?

Which is why there are literally hundreds of 'Christian' books predicting the hour.
