instrumental rock?
    #4572670 - 08/23/05 08:51 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I don't listen to a lot of rock anymore because i can't stand the cliche lyrics. So i was wondering, is there any good instrumental rock out there? Please recommend me some. I don't care what genre or whether it's slow and mellow or speed metal. As long as it's good and lyric-free.

Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Dream Theater. These bands blow my mind.

Umphrey's McGee. Saw 'em at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh last night. If you haven't been to Mr. Smalls, you should go. Soon. And if you haven't seen Umphrey's, you're missing out on some top-notch music with hand signals, dual lead guitars, psychic-like listening, etc. Admittedly I didn't pay much attention to them for years, but as of last night I can't ignore them any more...

Lightning Bolt. of course.

its a drum and bass duo, sort of a 'noise rock' group. they arent for everyone tho, but i suggest you give 'em a listen.

i suggest their albums Wonderful Rainbow and Ride The Skies. make sure you crank that shit up
