Godspeed is bad ass.

If you like Godspeed, you should check out the band called Mogwai.
Their Rock Action CD is probably a good introduction to them if you havent heard anything from them before.

i think godspeed is truly amazing ...

however ...

they depress me too much, to the point where i will never turn them on anymore ...

i respect them as a great band, but i will never turn them on ...

I've listened to a few Godspeed tracks..
Pretty good.. but certainly no Death.
I find them lacking in something.. not sure exactly what.. but it leaves me wanting something with more ..erm...substance.
Overall a good band though.

I ran across these guys while looking up DNTL and Mum albums and songs. I liked what I heard but never really followed up. My friend just recently got into them and likes them so I might have ot check it out sometime.

Try downloading either F#A#(Infinity) or Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. Not just a single song, but the whole album. It's the best way to get an idea of what they're about.

Godspeed is the most beautiful music I've heard to date. Hopefully I'll hear more in time, but so far Godspeed surpasses everything else. I have much experience with listening to new music, and the first time I heard godspeed I wasn't into it too much. It was too slow for me (at the time I was into faster electronic stuff). But some of the things that you absolutely have to do when listening to new music are REALLY lisen to it, try to predict what's coming next even though you can't. Then lisen to it while you're doing something else. Do this a few times, by the time you know some of the melodies you will know if you like the music or not. I'm so happy that I didn't miss out on Godspeed, I could have easily deleted it like all the other music I go through constantly and never known how great they are. This band is harder to find than good mushrooms so consider yourself lucky to find this post if you haven't heard of them and GO GET SOME GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR.
