Organic Instrumental Music?
    #5192951 -

I was wondering if anyone knew of any instrumental music which resembled some mellow trance type stuff, in that it is melodic and smooth and relaxing, but is not electronic?

I want something with real guitars, or whatever other instruments. Real drums etc. But I want that same feel. Sound Tribe Sector Nine was good, but I want something more organic.

Any ideas?

Check out Garaj Mahal, Steve Kimock, Drums and Tuba, and Yulara. I think you will find what you are looking for in one or more of those artists. :sun:

Oh and also String Cheese is starting to incorporate a lot more electronic feel into there shows. They do have some vocals but you might dig it. Check out the new years show they played at Sea of Dreams, Bassnectar came on stage and threw it down at this show as well!

Mogwai Mogwai Mogwai Mogwai. I hope you've already tried some Mogwai.

If not, Happy Songs for Happy People and Rock Action are good albums to start on.

Boards Of Canada's Campfire Headphase has a lot of instrumental work... but I also think it's kind of bland.

Yes, Ozric Tentacles!!

Also checkout Hidria Spacefolk and Korai Orom. They sound a lot like Ozrics, but have less electronic music and more ethnic instruments, sitar, didgeridoo, tablas.

Also, checkout the this link. Free flowing psychedelic ethnic jam band Free music!!

yea, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, and Mogwai are great mostly instrumental groups. The DJ's use mostly samples of really nice instrumentation, masterfully layered.

DJ Krush - Jaku
DJ Shadow - Entroducing
Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People

you also might try Nightmares on Wax - "Carboot Soul"... very beautiful album if you ask me.

thanks alot for the refrence to Hidria Spacefolk... i also downloaded Korai Orom but i found them alot less interesting ,boring beats and very liniar tracks... could do nice as embiant music but not something to get excited about... Hidria Spacefolk on the other hand sounds alot more interesting!
