Collective... Conscious v Unconscious
    #4540495 -

I've been readin' around for a good 20 minutes (yes, impressive, I know ) but I can't seem to find anything that notes the distinctions between the concepts of the Collective Conscious & the Collective Unconscious.

The collective unconscious can basically be viewed as sort of archaic, universal knowledge or experience, am I right? That's the way 'objective psyche' sounded to me. (Correct me if need be. I realize of course that these are not concrete ideas and as such have no absolute definition, but I'm just trying to work with these terms as how they're seen by popular consensus, so when I write or discuss with someone, I can point out where my personal ideas come in or branch off in a different direction.)

If this is so, then what is the collective consciousness? Because for quite awhile now, I've kind of used these terms rather interchangeably, but now I'm just a tad bit confused and I figure I should resolve this little issue in my psychedelic lexicon.

So if anyone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks  :mushroom2:loads!

I havent heard many references to the collective consciousness. I could imagine people referring to the information they receive from people around them (from body language, to social values and knowledge, to energy transfer). I wouldnt call that collective but some might.

television and (more specifically internet) could be construed as a collective conscious as pretty much everyone's conscious (and therefore unconscious) ideas are retained somewhere on the pages of the internet.

in fact i think that when you start posting on an internet community you are first sharing the very shallow regions of your ego and as you begin to assimilate into the persona of the community you begin exposing more and more "unconscious" material into what you write (by not censoring yourself as much) so... message boards could be seen very much like the inner workings of a mind.

there are drunken posts that make no sense, similar to the way odd dream fragments make no sense.... there are articulated thoughts.... there are pictures.... you know... lots of good stuff.

In some sort of fucked up way, we are cells in the brain of a huge being that is the "shroomery"

also in a community like this, we are collectively close to being omniscient as far as drug users can be about the subjects of psychedelic drug use.
--------------

but.... collective conscious may refer to the coming of "christ consciousness" when our minds merge together somehow... that might also be what you might be asking about.

....I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow, to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human......
