Fucked up investment scheme happened in my old hometown

I grew up in and lived in this town for twenty some years (I just recently moved). This house that is shown in the article (the one that the I.R.S. is taking) is literally a couple hundred feet away from a country house that I rented and lived in from 2003-2004. I always wondered what those people did because I always saw them driving Lexus's and living the good life. It was obvious that they were loaded.
