Wet Shrooms v. Dry Scrooms...Potency by wieght * 2

Im Curious:
Say that you have a quarter of wet shrooms which dries into an eighth of dry shrooms. Would one have to ingest the entire of quarter of wet shrooms to duplicate the intensity of the eighth of dry shrooms? So, does an equal wieght of wet shrooms have as much magic as dry?

Dried shrooms are 10 times as potent by weight:you eat 3 grams of dried shrooms is almost the same strength as if you ate 30 grams of wet shrooms.
When shrooms are dried 10% of the fresh weight remains because shrooms are 90% water.

I dont know why people really have a hard time understanding this. Look at it this way. Take one shroom that weighs something. If you were to take that one shroom, dry it, it would not be more potent, it just means it weighs less because all of the water is gone. Basically when you have to take 30 grams of wet shrooms, its not because wet ones are less potent, its because 90% of what you are eating is water.

one thing to add to bullettoothtony's explanation:

If you use a heat-based drying method (like an oven, etc) this can cause the dry-mushrooms to LOSE potency. The heat can break down psilocybin/psilocin. Although, dessicant methods are pretty tedious when dealing with larger amount of mushrooms.

I know MOE HOWARD had a black t-shirt drying method that used just a desk lamp (and the black t). (although this involved heat, he didn't lose very much potency reportedly)

Ya wet is 10X dry by weight alone!

The method swim used when mass drying and not planning on tripping right away was to lay out a layer of paper towels, and then lay out the babies on them, then cover with a second layer of towels. So simple and dries them within a day to 5 days depending on the size of the shrooms.

If all you get is 1"-3" shrooms in length, you should be fine with this method. if they are in a closed environment use a fan. Swim has had no post mold growth with this method.

Swim produces 4" caps with teacher and B+ and is attempting a grow with Cyanescense. Findings will be reported in the proper thread!

Cubensis usually have equal contents of Psilocybin and Psilocin, psilocin is lost due to oxidation of the drying process, this means wet mushrooms are more potent, but mushrooms are also 90% water.

10 grams of fresh mushrooms will be the same strength as 1.5 grams dried of the same mushrooms, though it may only dry into 1 gram, if you eat 10 grams fresh will be stronger than what it dries into because Psilocin is retained.

This thread would have been helpful last week, but turns out I didn't need it, I just googled the answer.

It really sucked eating 75g of wet shrooms. I think there was some manure on a couple too. Worst part of the trip by far.
