It's official - Swami names heir apparent

While everyone makes worthwhile contributions to our favorite forum; only one fully captures the "Spirit of Swami" (S.O.S.) without actually emulating me (a must)! I will not list all the Honorable Mentions and Runner-ups as everyone knows who they are and all were considered and also worthy of carrying on the torch. I also know that we have all superseded ego here and that no one will feel slighted.
I hereby name Diploid to carry on as my spiritual successor for the following qualities/reasons:
1. He is a strong and regular presence here.
2. He is scientifically literate.
3. He is persistent in not letting ill-thought out and poorly supported claims stand unchallenged.
4. He is well-versed in the rules of logical debate.
5. He has good wit and humor.
6. He bribed me with "goodies" - er, I mean he offered me "prasad" in the tradition of the East.
-------------------- The proof is in the pudding.

I would like to add as number 7. He keeps his mind open.
Are you going somewhere Swami? Or ready to take on a new role?

I'd be happy not to think in absolutes if you link me to an example of someone changing their opinion in the middle of a discussion

I heard Swami do it. Not in the middle but after reflection on something Jiggy said.

an open mind is a full head that acts like it is empty
Meaning, you collect information and know a lot, but take non of it for granted

Wow, I wake up this morning to check in, and I'm left speachless. Thank you! I guess you liked the goodies... uh, I mean... the prasad.

That's a good choice. Diploid is an intelligent poster, and is rather effective at arguing pseudoscience with logic.

I was gonna bring several loaves of BNB to Burning Man and the next Shroomery Gathering, but because of all the jokes; you people will never get to taste the ambrosiac nature of my home baking.
