OTD Rules

I think it's important to clarify a point about OTD rules to other members. After posting on this site for almost two years I did not know about a certain practice in OTD which resulted in a ban.

I posted a controversial poll in OTD last week. The poll did not break any specific OTD rules as confirmed by admins after my ban. Even though I didn't explicitly break any rules and my post was most definitely not a flame or a troll I was banned. Also the post did not describe on-going or past illegal activity. According to admins it was at their discretion to delete the thread and ban me due to the nature of the poll.

I think it's important for other members to realize that even though they may not have explicitly broken any rules the Mods/Admins can still ban them for what they feel is an unacceptable post. I understand their reaction although I strongly disagree with it. My ban initially was for 14 days even though I had received no prior bans or warnings. After speaking with the admins over the course of four days the ban was reduced.

After almost two years posting here I did not know of this practice. I feel it is important for others to know so they are not surprised about the ban of members over posts that are not in clear violation of any rule.

Yes you can't post threads about what age of children you want to have sex with. Hypothetical or not.

I sent you two links to 'all' the rules and stated yours was not a specific rule, in fact are we to create 1000's of specific rules, nobody will ever cover all things.. Thats why "Use your best judgement" is used.

Now quit beating a dead horse.
