Peruvian Torch/San Pedro legality?

Are they legal to grow in the USA? Is it legal to order seeds?

as far as i am aware - i.e. when i looked into the mescaline before i tried peruvian torch earlier this year - san pedro and its ilk are perfectly legal in the US, up until you process them in any way. This includes drying, but i don't think it includes simply cutting them, as cuttings are one way of obtaining the cacti and seem to be a common way of getting one without having to grow it from seed.
I think it takes 2 or 3 years before a san pedro is large enough to be considered for "harvesting"
the only mescaline-containing cactus that is specifically against the law in the US is peyote, unless you have a certificate proving you to be a member of the Native American church.
I believe the situation is the same here in England. In fact, peyote may not be illegal at all here, I'm not certain on that.
San Pedros give a differing experience to peyote because, apart from variations in the amount of mescaline present, the different cactus species differ in the actual make-up of alkaloids they contain. I have seen the san pedro/peruvian torch trip described as "more earthly". Drawing from my experience, I'd hazard a guess that with peyote, you tend to halluciante "fully", as in, you won't know you're still on Earth.
