I can honestly say I completely agree with that.

That's why a "democratic" system is problematic.  Supposedly "everyone" is supposed to nominate "someone" to decide what "everyone" wants, and then do what "that one person" believes is best for "everyone."  While it sounds like a good idea, there's no way to keep "everyone" happy.  :shrug:

Eh, fuck 'em.  :grin:

:nonono: Let's not get into the political framework, nor politics in S&P... :shrug: nevermind, might as well.

We suggest that we are a democracy (I'm assuming you're from the US) although we are a constitutional republic. We are democratic in most way of our bills being passed, however major decisions that affect everyone has little to do with the popular vote... same with the presidency in way of how the electoral college is the determinant of Presidency, and not majority rule (hence why some people abstain from voting as it's a downright sham)...

Further we could talk about how the system in place (in certain states) mandates that certain representatives vote in accordance with their party affiliation... and due to the fact that we're dominated by bi-partisan politics... it's just ridiculous display to suggest that people have the power to determine who sends them to war, where in reality, it's those that are part of the electoral college.

The original justification for this system is no longer applicable by way of our technology compared to when it was issued. (even then it was bs).

Everyone isn't happy.... as not everyone is represented, and their votes mean jack shit in terms of the presidency.

....Anyway, I don't really know DoctorJ and he seems nice enough.... and looking at the current state of affairs, I don't think it could get much worse. So  :thumbup: go for it DoctorJ.

I'd take over the world for a month, create a libertarian and very allowing federal (global?) law that only has a loose confederacy of local governments, put all the power to decide in the voters in localized regions, create an army that is severely controlled by the people to make sure the rights of the people or localized regions don't get violated, and step down. That shouldn't take more than 30 days, eh?

The problem with leaders is that they think they should lead, when in reality they should only be there to allow the people to lead themselves.
