Dehydrator Problems

I ingested 6+ grams last night. Very minor effects. I had dried the mushrooms in an American Harvest food dehydrator overnight for about 8-10 hours at the lowest temperature setting (95F). I know heat is no good for drying but this product was recommended by some very experienced and wise people on this board. So could that have been the reason I had very minor effects? I am quite dissapointed.
Another thing I could think of was that I had a cold for the past few days and had been taking DayQuil for a couple of days, including yesterday when I ingested the shrooms. Could that have counteracted the effect? Or you think it was my drying method. I am very stumped.

My cakes were BRF and Verm. Dunked 24 hours, rolled in verm and put in a poor man's pod with 95% humidity. Wet weight was 68 grams for 2 cakes and when I dried them it totaled about 6.2 grams.

8-10 hours might not get them cracker dry. They might appear cracker dry to you, but all it takes is a little moisture to offset final weight.
Unless it was an accurate dry weight, you could have had 2-4 grams for all we know.

I can assure you the problem wasnt from the heat...
Substrate, strain and conditions will vary potency greatly from shroom to shroom.

Hmmm, so the next time I try this strain (PR), how long should I keep them in the dehydrator?

to scat!~
Sometimes you will get a non potent flush off BRF/Verm cakes. I don't know why...but it just happens...and it sucks.
I can assure you its not from the American Harvest dehydrator. I always use one.
Move on to other growing technics...grains, casings and bulk substrates.
good luck!~

Could it have been any interactions with the cold medicine?

the BRF substrate produces pretty weak shrooms in my experience. Spawn to poo next time for a crazy insance potency increase.

Had same problems with cakes. Even eaten fresh no good. Horse poo/straw has always done great.

Horse poo and straw eh? I have 3 more 1/2 pint jars fully collinated ready to be birthed. I think I will try your suggestions with horse poo and straw. Any good links you guys recommend?
