one of my life's ambitions is to synth my own acid. first i have to get rich, buy a lab, find the chems, call up my PhD chemist friend and get going. probably will never happen, but i can dream.

Oh no, not me.  I assume you are asking if that's where I'm at.  No sir.  However, if you ask if I "know", then yes.

I worked with a guy who had family there.  I would periodically ask him if they lived near "it".  he he.  Even if he would have said yes, I wouldn't have gone through with it.

Trying to get "ET home" is a risky business.

I'm willing to drive 500 miles to hook up 10 doses, but there's no way I'd go near any deal involving ET.  Leave that for the alien pros.

Speaking of driving and being willing to do damned near ANYTHING!!! - where is my guiding light?  Ho hum...  I know...we wait and wait and wait...  :smile:

Synthesizing LSD is not too hard, provided you got the chems to make it happen. To oversimplify a procedure while staying true to it:

1..Dissolve Lysergic acid into Acetonitrile and slam it into the fridge
2..Pour in trifluoroacetic anhydride and wait
3..Pour in diethylamine base and wait
4..Allow to warm to room temperature in the dark
5..Evaporate the Acetonitrile
6..It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time.

This produces a powder which consists of 1 mols Lysergic acid + 2 mols Diethylamine trifluoroacetate salt. Yields will be high as it's an old procedure used in protein sequencing.

So you see, the lab part is not hard if you got the right stuff, both in your lab (which may indeed be a kitchen) and in your brain.(which cannot be a kitchen) The thing is that the precursors are HIGHLY watched. Nay I can top that: This THREAD is watched because certain words were uttered on a blacklisted site like this one. If a real person is alerted to this thread then those who said they want to synth LSD will be put on a special list.

Knowledge is allowed until this day (april 2005) and most kinds of discussion too. Discussing RL plans to synth LSD is not, the Gov't is scared shitless by LSD and not entirely without good reasons.
I do not want to live in a one mile proximity of a kitchen where a bunch of chem students are cooking up a batch of LSD. No sir!

Take the ET often required for instance: On the black market it often is CUT with stuff to bulk it up. That can lead to runaway reactions. Some LSD synths use high explosive carcinogens in quantity. Said Acetonitrile is a highly toxic irritant volatile flammable explosive hazard. Trifluoroacetic anhydride is a highly toxic volatile corrosive irritant. And all those things that go WHUMPP! in the night surround huge quantities of the most potent psychedelic of all time.

The reaction itself is not hard, but you gotta know how to handle hazmat, in a lab equipped to handle hazmat, located and built such that should mishap occur the subsequent disaster will be contained before it occurs.

Making LSD isn't harder than making any delicate organic amide, but if it goes wrong you often either end up with a splash or a mist that is very dangerous in many ways and it may be accompanied by a blazing inferno or even a fierce explosion.

Bottom line: It is NOT for us mere mortals to fiddle with. Either you dedicate your life to it and STFU for safety's sake or you give information, alert to risks and daydream in a public place such as the Internet :wink:
