Are we just a bunch of druggies?
    #3978192 -

Sometimes i feel like 'what am i doing...smoking this mara-jew-wanna' or wating mushrooms or whatever floats your boat.

As many i claim mushrooms have changed my life for the better. I see the world much differently--better in my opinion...

But could it be we are just a bunch of druggies? Its tough to imagine a total neutral unbiased view(except for me and the dali llama  )

But are we just blinded by these substances....are we druggies....im just rambling half asleep....much anxiety...i dunno...make of this post what you want. I need some good conversation.

I rarely consume any substances. I have a few beers every once in awhile...used to smoke pot regularly - but not anymore. I only trip every new season (so 4x a year) & each time is a heavy "heroic" dosage.

I dont consider myself a druggie or stoner...

We are continuing a tradition of mankind to alter our state of consciousness. Carry on.

Everybody's on drugs if you think about it. People get addicted to power, money, fame, violence, danger, sex... almost anything you can think of. In the whole scheme of things I think we have it pretty good.

I don't know, you can't really ask that question about a bunch of people spread out over the world all coming at this from different angles. Seems like what you're really trying to figure out is how you feel about that regarding yourself. Me, I'm a pothead, but I'm no druggie. I dont know what a "druggie" is. I like to experiment and try different drugs...I'm rambling too, but because of adderall and beer and pot and a paper I hate writing.

I personally don't think I am I have a two year old daughter I can't be just tonight with a bunch of my friends I had my daughter and they were getting high and I passed it up cause she was with me... I don't think that a "druggie" would pass it up no matter what was going on. I have a job I pay my bills and I take care of buisness... to me a drugggie is a strung out bum who will waste all their tme money and even friends family and health just too get high.. I don't know anyone on this site that does that.. So im going to say no I don' think we are a bunch of druggies

Just people who like to have fun and chill

Ditto! I hate it when people make a comment like that to me. I am successful. I am doing well. I stay healthy(mentally and physically)

I am a normal person trying to view the world un-biased. So what if i like marijuana. It dosent make me a bad person. It dosent make me a different person. It is something i just really enjoy. Just like a runner loves to run.

There's just no definition for who's a druggie and who's not, you have to determine your own value system for that and then be able to look at yourself and those around you and decide what's what. And your system won't work for everyone.

Like my dad says he can tell an alcoholic or alcoholic-to-be if it's someone who always has to get the last drop out of a beer bottle or glass, or a glass of wine, can't just let a little sit down there. Alcohol's the least attractive intoxicant to me for sure, but you can be damn sure if I pay 5 bucks for a glass of wine or something I'm gonna drink that last bit and get my money's worth. I know I'm not an alcoholic-to-be, but according to his method I guess I am.

All experiences are the result of a chemical reaction.

Well, we like illegal substances that do strange and wonderful things to our heads. I dunno if that makes us "druggies". Personally, they can call me whatever they wanna...

"The embarrassing truth is that consciousness is a chemical phenomenon. Everything that you have ever experienced, you have experienced because of a chemical reaction in your nervous system. Memory is a chemical process. Learning is a chemical process. Stupidity is a chemical process. "Stupor" is a chemical process. Normal awareness is a chemical process."

everyone is different because everyone's experiences are different. I'm very sure that mushrooms haven't been nice to everyone, especially to those who abuse them.

if by druggie you mean people who abuse drugs, i think it would be really tough to apply this label to everyone on this board. I do smoke pot everyday, but I also work two jobs. I don't let mj blind me from doing what I do to prepare for my future and take care of myself now.

if you mean druggie as someone who uses drugs, then everyone in this world is guilty of that in one form or another.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
