Question: (This requires some roleplaying on your part)

-Suppose you're an alien, from intergalactic origin (not important from where). You are technologically superior in every respect of the world, and by virtue of that one could assume that your philosophical discipline is just as superior (else you would have wiped and/or decimated yourself as a species by way of the superior technology, which has ultimately allowed you to advance to the degree to be spacefaring and visiting earth).

With all that said... If you really do have superior technology, why would you abduct humans to give them anal probes, dissect and mutilate cows, and play with human agriculture (crop circles)? (Is earth like an Alien vacation spot or somethin'?)

I think that in using the term hallucination you are being way too generous. This implies honesty. I recently read the results of an FBI investigation into Satan worship cults that supposedly practice human sacrifice. Many people reported that they had been raised in families where Satanic practices and human sacrifice (usually babies born in unreported births...specifically bred for sacrifice) were performed...but later escaped to warn others about the underground Satan cults. Many of these people had previously filed reports with the FBI as being UFO abductees but had moved on to being witnesses to Satanic rituals.

Bit of chasm jumping there, from aliens to hallucinations. You could change that to 'mass hallucinations' as there are hundreds of incidents with multiple witnesses often not even knowing each other.

The alien agenda is to monitor Earths technological progress as we start to build craft capable of deep space travel. They know that we will soon be exploring the universe as they are.

Re: Alien Agenda [Re: Swami]

If aliens are hallucinations, then how do you explain this incident:

The Pascagoula incident involved two men, nineteen-year-old Calvin Parker and forty-two-year-old Charles Hickson, both of Gautier, Mississippi, who were fishing in the Pascagoula River when they heard a buzzing noise behind them. Both turned and were terrified to see a ten-foot-wide, eight-foot-high, glowing egg-shaped object with blue lights at its front hovering just above the ground about forty feet from the riverbank. As the, men frozen with fright, watched, adoor appeared in the object, and three strange Beings floated just above the river towards them.

The Beings had legs but did not use them. They were about five feet tall, had bullet-shaped heads without necks, slits for mouths; and where their noses or ears would be, they had thin, conical objects sticking out, like carrots from a snowman's head. They had no eyes, gray, wrinkled skin, round feet, and clawlike hands. Two of the beings seized Hickson; when the third grabbed Parker, the teenager fainted with fright. Hickson claimed that when the Beings placed their hands under his arms, his body became numb, and that then they floated him into a brightly lit room in the UFO's interior, where he was subjected to a medical examination with an eyelike device which, like Hickson himself, was floating in midair. At the end of the examination, the Beings simply left Hickson floating, paralyzed but for his eyes, and went to examine Parker, who, Hickson believed was in another room. Twenty minutes after Hickson had first observed the UFO, he was floated back outside and released. He found Parker weeping and praying on the ground near him. Moments later, the object rose straight up and shot out of sight.

Expecting only ridicule if they were to tell anyone what had happened, Hickson and Parker initially decided to keep quiet; but then, because they felt the government might or ought, to know about it, they telephoned Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi. A sergeant there told them to contact the sheriff. But uncertain about the reception their bizarre story might get from the local law, they drove to the local newspaper office to speak with a reporter. When they found the office closed, Hickson and Parker felt they had no alternative but to talk to the sheriff.

The sheriff, after listening to their story, put Hickson and Parker in a room wired for sound in the belief that if the two men were left alone, they would reveal their hoax; of course, they did not. The local press reported their tale; the wire services picked it up; and within several days the Pascagoula close encounter was major news all over the country. The Aerial Phenomena Research Organisation (APRO), founded in 1952, sent University of California engineering professor James Harder to Mississippi to investigate; J. Allen Hynek, representing the Air Force, also arrived. Together they interviewed the witnesses. Harder hypnotized Hickson but had to terminate the session when Hickson became too frightened to continue.

Hickson and Parker both subsequently passed lie detector tests. Hynek and Harder believed the two men's story. And Hynek was later quoted as saying, 'There was definately something here that was not terrestrial.

Seriously though, if you look at ancient beliefs + pictures/drawings, something came here and was seen. Beyond the fact that your testimony can't be proven, and nothing in regards to the matter can be proven to the extent that is suggested, it's likely that the 'ancients' weren't just screwing with us (not all of them).

I think that in the past, those that seen it were to afraid to espouse the fact that they were anal probed though.

That is similar to this...

Two dogs have a conversation.
One of them says:
Supose those planes ARE flowm by humans. Now why would humans

In this case you can not use the argument: "if I were"

Yeah equally when people say "They couldn't travel here because they couldn't travel beyond the speed of light" this theory is flawed by human perspective.

They could be closer, to us, than to need to use faster than speed of light travel. The speed of light theory could be (prolly is) incomplete/incorrect. They could be using wormhole or teleportation technology. The literature certainly suggests that the latter is true.

And the "why would they want to come here and see us" arguement. Its crazy! How could we possibly know why when where dealing with a species we know nothing about!

It really makes me laugh at such closed minded arguements, I mean to think that there are no other possibilities!

I am not on trial here, a concept and a theory is on trial. Yeah equally when people say "They couldn't travel here because they couldn't travel beyond the speed of light" this theory is flawed by human perspective.

A human theory will by definition use a human perspective.

You missed the point of the story..

The dogs can not even begin to imagine how humans think, regardless if humans are real or just concepts and imaginary ideas.
Even if aliens are not real, the idea of aliens is that if they have more advanced technology, they are more intelligent.
So illusions or not, you can't speculate about their logic, just as you can't speculate about the logic of tooth-fairies because they don't think the same way we do

And as for your version of story..

Your version of the story proves the same point mine did

But your story shows how dogs can not make valid conclusions based on their internal logic.

p.s. These aliens we are discussion, real or not, are more intelligent than us because they have such advanced technology,
so I believe dogs are to us what we are to this concept of aliens.
Perhapse the differences are not so huge, but the orientation on the scale is right.

If Creature B is merely an imaginary concoction of a Creature A, then Creature A could certainly imagine how it's imaginary creature could think.

So creatura A imagines a creature B which is more advanced than creature A. Even thought creature B is imaginary, the concept of progress, higher intelligence and advancement is real, and this real concept is attached to the imaginary creature.

Example:
I imagine an apple that reflects light beyond the visible spectrum.
I can not speculate how that apple looks like because it reflects rays that I do not see. While the apple is imaginary, the rays exist in nature and are real, and I have attached a real world phenomenon to
an imaginary object. Even though the apple is imaginary, I have allready limited it in any discussion by giving it certain qualities from the real world. So then, even thought this apple is a product of MY imagination I CAN'T speculate on how does this imaginary object look like because I have attached this limitation to it, a real world limitation.

So if you say aliens are more intelligent than us, you have limited tha imagination range for that concept in any discussion.
Since the concept of higher and lower intelligence is real (someone can be more or less intelligent), you can not discuss logic of any imaginary object to wich you attach the quality of higher intelligence than yourself.

DMT anyone? [Re: OldWoodSpecter]
    #3904027 -

The accidental release of DMT from the pineal gland has been proposed to explain the phenomenon of people experiencing these abductions or visitations. DMT has always left me feeling like I want my mommy if I take it by myself (Iget sacred shitless b/c I feel the presence of others) So it's alien abductors today, god yesterday, perhaps it'll be admiral ackbar in the future?

How do you "accidentally" release DMT? DMT is in the spinal fluid at all times. It is produced almost continually in the brain.

A certain kind of sleep paralisis disorder can make you experience alien abductions too.
I happen to have a mild case of this disorder which runs in my family from my mothers side, but it is a very weak form and does not produce any visual hallucinations. It just makes you have seizures a dozen times in your life and strange wakeups often.
Anyway, the "full" version of it can make you see a lot of stuff, feel like being raped by demons, feel a demonic presence in the room, see blood on walls, see devils or aliens and all kinds of nightmares right in front of you. I wouldn't want to be one of those people having those nightmares. I consider myself lucky
The strongest it ever manifested itself in my family was once or twice what happened to my mother. She woke up paralized and having a panic attack while feeling hands pressing her chest against the bed.
She got so freaked out that she was afraid to go to sleep for days.
Her mother had that disorder too.

DMT, as in the drug?

--------------------
My dad use to have this red truck that he would drive all the way to Moscow with. He actually got a really good deal on it from a friend of his. One day it had a strange noise coming from the trunk. A tapping noise that was on and off. He pulled over to check it out. When he got out of his truck, he stepped in a puddle, causing muddy water to splash all over his jeans. So he got back into his truck and decided to go back home.

Aliens and Probes [Re: Gomp]
    #3904743 -

I think OldWoodSpecor is absolutely right: Its superfluous to debate on what aliens would do or would not, cause we don know who they think and how they live. All our estimates are made with our sense of wrong or right, our preferences in life, our social communities, religion ....
Aliens dont necesseraly need to work like us. As a queer, but simple example: Lets say that the Alien Species "A", which is going to visit us (and anal probe us :-) ) hates pocession, and thus produces stuff to give it away quickly for free. That would be stupid in our sense, but would make a community work nevertheless. So, in effect this alien might come up to us, and give us a brand new Ge-543232 Startransporter for free!! (But only if we call now!)
- With this crude example I only want to emphasis, that we cannot say what they look like and what theyd do in case of an encounter.
Our reality is limited to our perception. And that we get from living on earth and not on some other planet far away.
Concerning the drug thing Spector said: I had the same thing on my first shroom trip.Since I was little Ive always had these dancing oriental women in my head, dancing to spiritual music. This has always been a simbol for spiritualism for me. Now on my first shroom trip I closed my eyes and who was there dancing and singing? Three women, with beautiful arabic faces, hidden under persion robes.
A few trips later I had read about the mantis, and what did I see: A green insekt, running across the wall.
Its all in your head, and so are anal probes and little green men!

Despite the above I also believe in Aliens, and that we will one day encounter them. When , or if we havent already, I do not see myself entitled to judge. (Im also a dog, as in Woods example)

How does this account for the incident I explained earlier in this text? How do two seperate people have a spontanious DMT release at the same time and have the exact same resulting hallucination?

This is a really stupid idea and far more outragous than the E.T theory.

Consider the size of the Universe and consider how old the Universe is. Consider we know life evolves or we wouldn't be here ourselfs. Consider the fact we have discovered micro-organisms in space existing seperate from our planet.

Then tell me its unlikely that a race has mastered space travel. We are not that far away from apes and we've already travelled space!!!

Why do we find 'hallucinations' to be a much simpler/easier explaination? So our ego's can sit happy. So we don't have to deal with the harsh reality of this Universe.

Swami in your explaination you say that you cannot account for the hundreds of people that can see the virgin mary in what is a randomly formed pattern. The fact is they see something, they see the pattern and it is then that they discern it to be a virgin Mary.

The same applies for the Alien phenomena. The difference here is that there is no glass and no pattern to produce the alien craft and beings. As in the Pascagoula incident two seperate people hear a craft and turn to see a craft and alien beings. This cannot be accounted for by hallucination (as I explained above), lies are out of the picture (they passed lie detector tests and spy recordings of their conversations) and there was no 'glass window' or pattern (nothing for them to misinterpret). Of course, not to mention the fact that this is one of many many similar incidents reported by seperate individuals world over.

Please think about what I am saying deeply and carefully before you jump on a tangent and pick apart my wording.

Well, so what have you proven? All you say is, that technically something might be able to travel to earth. But that doesnt prve that it already has. Even if, isnt the fact that we havent generally seen them more relevant? By this I mean, that it doesnt make a differance in your life, unless its not tengible in some sort of way.

Huh? :wtf:

Where did it say I had to prove something?

I don't try to prove anything as that is impossible.

If there was proof then we wouldn't be debating ideas here???

The idea I am conveying is that E.T is a far more likely an answer than to say the phenomena is mass hallucination etc etc blah blah.

I am saying it is not logical to believe that peoples DMT glands can release spontaniously en mass and for them to have the same DMT induced vision when there is a perfectly simple and logical extra-terrestial explaination.

If you want to get into the arguement of proof then don't bother with me because I don't think that anybody can prove anything.  I think there are likely or less likely possibilities, that is all.

I am constantly summarising the point of my arguement and even then people just use a diversion tactic (tangents, humour)to avoid something they can't argue with!!!  Do I not explain myself well enough?

I'm not sure I quite understand what your saying at the end but I can tell you, seeing a space craft, that appeared to be alien, close up, certainly changed my outlook on life in a big way...

Thank you for your solid example and I agree your correct that it is easy to see faces in many objects, theres probably nothing mystical about it.

The difference with people seeing aliens (what this thread is essential about) is that there is no pattern to produce the alien craft and beings.

Your example relies on the brain making pictures out of random patterns.  In many well documented incidents multiple witnesses have seen alien craft/aliens and there has not been no pattern to trigger the mental process you speak of.

As in the Pascagoula incident two seperate people hear a craft and turn to see a craft and alien beings.
