Unless you consider religious experiences invalid as well?

I have abduction dreams now and then and they are the scariest nightmares you can imagine. I usually wake up sweating and wondering if it is real or am i still dreaming.

This is a bit different from a religious experience.

This is a claim that the person is being physically moved, probed, impregnated, all kinds of wackiness. This doesn't make abuctions totally invalid. There is absolutely no good evidence that they occur though, and it's absolutely stupid to lean towards the idea that they do.

have just read book that theorises that alien abductions are linked to large releases of DMT in the pinial (spelling?)! gland in the brain. the books called DMT ,the spirit molecule. if one has exienced an abductionon whatever level bit physuical or mental then surely that is valid...?

What is the most important conclusion and most needed answer, the validation of the existance of god or the validation of the existance of aliens ?

Not all abduction cases claim to have happened physically. Some people claim to have been "abducted" in states of consciousness similar to dreams. These states are also similar to those described by religious experiences.

Please don't misinterpet my reply as an attack on your beliefs, or mistake me as a disbeliever of God. I was trying to point out that religious experiences are not that different from alien encounter descriptions.

PS- I do believe in 'God', although my definition varies slightly from the traditional view. For me, God is a personification of the Universe itself, expressed in everything you see and feel. I have had both encounters with what I loosely view as God and aliens. I do not view the experiences as much different in nature, although the feelings and thoughts that occured in each were dramatically opposed.

I've had sleep paralysis and recognized it as such. I was paralized had a non human "entity" next to my bed that I could hear but couldn't see (couldn't turn my head).

As for abduction not being valid, you can't neccisarily say that. Perhaps psionically skilled aliens do "abduct" people. Not taking their bodies but hijacking their conciousness. All the reports about examining tables, sex, probes, etc..., could be the rational minds attempt at interpreting the extremely bizarre (alien) experience.

Just a thought.

One quick question......
If you were able to add up every bit of intuition 'abductees' have about their experience and put it into yourself, then put every bit of it into one use..would you believe whatever thought or imagination occurred to at that moment even though there is a bunch of theoretical mumbo jumbo against it? If so, you definitly can't hold intuition below externally percepted facts like swami or sclorch, welcome to the world of trusting your most inner advice.

Some people who proclaim to be abductees are simply clinging to what they wish were true. Those who do this cause you, in part (or whole in your case, I think) to disbelieve. This does not mean that a portion of the human population isn't experiencing alien abduction.

Although I think people who claim to be abducted are vastly misinterpretting natural phenomenon, and agree with your initial post.. It doesnt mean ALL these experiences are INVALID. It means its VERY LIKELY they are, but not certainly.

Do you honestly believe something didnt happen to a person, just because they cant prove it (and the burden of proof IS with them..) and you can't? I mean, you cant PROVE to me that God exists, yet you beleive in God, correct? (also if you can prove it, I'd be interested in hearing it.)

I dont believe in alien abductions, I dont think a race that could travel the cosmos would need to bother with abducting humans to learn about them.. but there is no PROOF that it is impossible, as there is no PROOF that it isn't.

So doesn't that make it possible?

Correct me if I'm wrong, because this has been my argument on this issue for some time..

I would like to add that I think abduction stories form a continuum with old legends and beliefs ...They do contain a message ...given to us by the hidden parts of our being.
