Mushroom dosage? (hardhead?)

I have taken mushrooms well over a half dozen times, steadily increasing my dosage. At relatively low dosages (1.5, 3 and 4 grams) I experienced only a mild 'stoning' effect, while my friends were either tripping extremely hard or relatively good. Only when I upped the dosage to 7 grams (all figures are dried weights, btw) did I experience my first open-eye visuals (color alteration/pronounced color, warping/breathing of inanimate objects). Closed-eye visuals became more pronounced, but not entirely intricate. Recently, I consumed 6 dried grams of the sacrament, and was treated to an excellent experience -- definte pronounced colors, outlines on faces/objects, intricate closed eye visuals, personal introspection (I spent at least an hour thinking about work, money, and generally contemplating social interactions). I suspect that I am a 'hardhead' and have an extremely low sensitivity to mushrooms. Would a MAO inhibitor help me achieve greater level trips (I would consider my best trip to only be a 'level 2' trip)?

unsure, it also could be that you have low potency shrooms- - the doses you describe as low are actually more like moderate/heavy. ask Murple, he should know, but its diff for all people

Heavenly, thanks for the response. While I suspect that the mushrooms consumed were not in great condition and much care wasn't taken with regards to preserving potency ('local dealer' shrooms, unfortunately), the fact that my friends (one in particular) all had substantially more 'trip' at equal doses of the same batch. My most recent trip, consuming 6 grams dried with a friend consuming 3 grams dried, had me and my friend having generally the same level of trip. I'm leaning towards thinking that I'm simply not very sensitive to psylocybin -- does anyone have any ideas as to what causes this? Genetic disposition? Will I experience the same low sensitivity to other psychedelics, such as LSD?

different bodies are wired differently, there's not much evidence showing why different people need more or less, so i dont know.
if you try LSD, i think taking a normal/mild dose for the first time is a good idea, since you can't be sure exactly how your body will react (some people can take 10 hits of acid and have a mild trip, and then they eat 10 grams of cubies and have a major freak-out ... lsd and psilocybin, while similar, are not the same and will not affect you the same way).
