A great movie to trip on, truly.

I apologize if anyone has already posted this, but I think Fantasia 2000 would be amazing tripping. I watched the DVD the other day while very high, and all the different parts are great. I especially liked the second one which had animations of city life, set to George Gershwin.
It seems the last laugh always falls upon us, and I won't fight it anymore. And when the music stops I'll step back into the dark, and wait for the encore.

What about movies like "Alice in Wonderland", "Pink Floyd's The Wall" or "Natural Born Killers". There's plenty of "fuked up" movies. I especially like watching cartoons while high. Everything is crazy.

Unfortunately, I didn't really like Fantasia 2K. I felt there were too many "guests" interrupting the flow, and only two (at most) scenes I'd like to watch while frying. Now, the first fantasia, with some Juno Reactor playing on the stereo, that was very very insane. Much fun.

I agree. The constant interuption of the music/visuals was intollerable. I actually watched this while tripping and it was great while the music was playing but the vibe always got killed when some stupid celebrity popped up reading que cards and making stupid jokes.

Agreed, I was tripping with some newbies at college and they said they had watched it while high and they loved it, so they insisted we watch it. I was annoyed by all the interuptions, and definitly wouldn't repeat it.

YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!! just about every time i trip i watch it...the music just sucks me in and causes me to melt in my chair, then i cant move my eyes away from the screen...great movie. Ive seen the wall while tripping and it kinda gave me bad vibes...not really worth it. Ive seen the first fantasia while tripping and it was pretty nice...it gets kinda boring though

Walrus, you're the only one that shares my enthusiasm for Yellow Submarine. I've seen it way too many times to watch it everytime I trip, but it's THE BEST TRIP MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!! I didn't even see your post here before I posted "YELLOW SUBMARINE" in the other threads that asked what the best trip movie was. I'll say it in every thread I see pertaining to trip movies. It's the BEST.

First, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, there is so much shit that goes on in that movie, a must Second, The Endless Summer. a documentry made in the 70's about surfing, So fucking funny just to watch it and listen to the narator try to explain what they are all doing "Fuck No, Thank you kindly"

If you liked Yellow Submarine, you should check out the Monkee's movie: "Monkees: Head". Whatever you think of the band, its a great surreal movie.

Some friends of mine and I watched Fantasia 2k once on a trip. You wouldn't believe the subtexts we were seeing in the movie. We peaked during this and all three of us were rapped up in the flick. Each section of the movie is a metaphor for some aspect of life coming from birth and moving to death (excluding the stupid Mickey Mouse part) and rebirth. We were completely blown away by it... and also horrified by some of the themes presented. The Steadfast Tin Soldier is a family friendly retelling of Reifenstahl's Triumph Of The Will (the most prolific Nazi propanganda movie ever). Ever tripped and watched a kung fu movie? You will never, ever, ever put The Wall on again after a trip out kung fu experience. Some movies I recommend (since some of these are difficult to track down I'll provide an availability rating 1-5 *'s 1 being extremely hard to track down 5 being rentable at Lackluster Video): Iron Monkey - Donny Yen *** (getting a theatrical release in the states can buy from www.shockingimages.com) Fong Sai Yuk - Jet Li ***** (aka The Legend, may go by another title in rental outlets) Fist of Legend - Jet Li in a remake of Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection ***** Once Upon A Time In China - Jet Li in a Wong Fei Hung story ***** Drunken Master 2 (aka Legend of Drunken Master) - Jackie Chan in a Wong Fei Hung story ***** Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - Chow Yun Fat/Michelle Yeoh ***** Wing Chun - Michelle Yeoh * Storm Riders - Aaron Kwok/Ekin Cheng special effects fest *** (can order from www.shockingimages.com)
