DJ Q-Bert's Wave Twisters...you guys gotta check this shit out, its an animated movie, whichs story came from dj q-berts cd of the same name, its like a big music video...he made up most of the storyline while trippin on acid and wanted to make a movie that made people feel like they were on drugs, its a must see!

Not the best film to trip to though, its so depressing. Thats if you mean pink floyds the wall. Best film to watch must be Fear and Loathing or Yellow submarine.

For a series of short films, check out www.ninjai.com . . . just make sure that you download them first because the wait can be a bitch, especially if you don't have broadband. Also maybe not so good cause it isn't finished yet . . . but I really enjoyed the first 10 shorts!!

however, i like to close my eyes and trip to those improv "movies" that play in my head when I'm tripping :smile: Very expensive-looking productions with loads of special-effects and intricate set-design

There are actually 3 Fantasias. I've only seen the first one as well.

The original Alice in Wonderland is fantastic. Also The Doors is fun, the new Phish DVD from Vegas will tear you fucking head right off, and oh yeah! the big lebowski.

rofl haven't you guys figured out that as long as the movie isn't terrible or terrifying, basically any movie REALLY KICKS ASS on psychedelics? As long as you suspend your disbelief and let yourself like it, you'll REALLY like it.

Same with music, actually. Any album that is relatively cool will really kick ASS.... However some albums will reach out and GITCHYA!

Whenever I watch a movie on mushrooms I sit there and analyze the production of the movie. I look at the set-design, I look at the makeup, I pay attention to how each actor says each line (I'm extremely critical of this while on mushrooms - so many actors say their lines with the emphasis on the wrong words - it has to piss off whoever wrote the script). I pay so much attention to each second of the movie that I rarely follow the plot; each camera-shot is its own entire movie lol.

But yeah my point is I get so distracted from myself while watching movies that I never get much out of the trip other than a new obsession with either an actor or a screenwriter or something like that.

for all you guys that like fantasia, you will definitly like Wave Twisters, and when i said its like pink floyd the wall, i meant that its a movie based on a record, its very up beat and is Animation with a Hip Hop/Skratch music soundtrack (no voices, the music syncs with the animation)...on a side note i watched alice and wonderland on shrooms and now i hate it...dont know why, but yeah some of the best movies are made in your head as some were saying, but if you are going to watch a movie wave twisters is the shit  :grin:

Fantasia 2000 is really amazing on shrooms. Much more so if you got to see it on IMAX.

I saw Fantasia 2000 at an IMAX theatre on shrooms a few years ago, and it was breathtaking. I was so connected to the music and what was happening on the screen, it was unbelievable... especially the final scene.

If you can't find it still playing somewhere on IMAX (it may come back in a few years), find someone with a home theatre system (big screen, surround sound, subwoofer, etc).

I keep meaning to go to the IMAX place in London, but i never get around to it for one reason or another.  I'm not sure if i can handle the middle of london on shrooms though.  I suppose i could eat a bar of chocolate when it's time to leave :smile:

I've got a 28 inch widescreen (lovely sound) at home, and PS2 for DVD, so it tends to put me off going to the cinema cause they're so uncomfortable, and full of smelly people who are always talking and stuff.  And i always need the toilet in the middle of the film and i can't pause it at the cinema.

The last time i watched fantasia was about twenty years ago.  I'll have to hunt it out and give it a watch again, with a light dosing of shrooms.

I was talking about Fantasia 2000, not the original Fantasia.

Fantasia 2000 has all new parts, and I find it much more enjoyable than the original.

To enjoy something of this nature, you do not want to dose yourself too high.

I watched A Knights Tale this afternoon.  It's a funny film about jousting.  Worth a watch sometime.

I've got Tron out for later.  I haven't seen that in absolute years.  I saw that at the cinema when it first came out.

I have yet to watch Waking Life on shrooms or LSD, but I'd imagine it would be quite good (aside from that psychotic red faced guy in jail, and the gun-bar scene).

That movie is quite a trip without any psychoactives in your system :wink:

The Rum Diary was a book by Hunter S. Thompson. It is his first admitted entirely ficticious novel. It's about a young American journalist who works for an English-language newspaper in Puerto Rico (I think that's where it was, anyway).

I doubt it will ever be made into a movie, though. There's no psychadelics whatsoever (it's happening in the mid-50's), and it's mostly maudlin alcoholics chatting away at a local bar.

Yeah, i watched alice in wonderland while on mush. Totally awesome. They put in lots of little things you wouldn't notice, unless you were on drugs.

I've always had good luck with computer animated movies. I watched monsters inc. while on lsd, and it was awesome. Especially the 'door world' scene. plus it's really funny.

Toy story, Toy story 2, and all those shows would be sweet.

And hasn't anyone mentioned...lord of the rings? I watched that a bit while on a quad of acid....WOW!!!!!! I did plan to see the two towers in theatre, on acid...but probably won't get to.


Yeah strumpling, i'm the same when watching most movies while tripping or stoned. I analyze EVERYTHING in a movie. Just like you. Every detail, every camera angle. I look at the movie as if I was on the set. I see all the flaws, horrible acting, etc. So most things aren't enjoyable. BUT...take some shrooms or acid and watch alice in wonderland. It's just so 'random'...and things are just so cool...i didn't find myself doing a lot of analyzing.

Next summer, a show called 'finding nemo' is coming out. It's made by the people who made monsters inc. It takes place under the sea though. I can't WAIT to watch this movie while tripping.

man I saw vanilla Sky the other day. Never watched it tripping. I never really have watched much of moveis on shrooms. I end up not paying attention or smoking lots of weed and mellowing out. I imagine I would flip out if I watched it on a high dose.

IMO, don't watch movies when you're tripping.  It's fun, but you can get so much more out of psychadelics when you just observe the world around you, not the world within a TV.

Though I must say, I got a lot out of The Mummy Returns when I was tripping 2ci :blush:

My best movie trip was splitting 3/4 of an eighth of shrooms between with my friend, and then going to see Austin Powers 3. Giggles galore! Not enough shrooms for a head trip, but enough to be giggly and have a good time. I have a ton of respect of respect for shrooms in serious religious/spiritual meanings, but I think they also have a place when you're somewhere where everything's just silly. (i.e. Austin Powers)

That's about the complete opposite of how I react to movies I watch while tripping. Rather than seeing every little detail and picking the movie apart I develop close emotional attachment to the characters and the plot. Nothing particularly trippy about these movies, but I like watching Clerks and The Boondock Saints while tripping. I must've watched them 8 times each last fall tripping on Azurescens.

I disagree! Fear and Loathing seemed really fake to me when I was tripping...it really gets bad when he's on the Adrenechrometrip, cause thats scary, and bad news for a trip. Kung Pow was so wierd and funny to trip to, I highly rcommend it..I cant stand that movie when Im sober, but when under the influence its so damn hilarious! Yellow Submarine on the otherhand probably is pretty cool...

definitely Waking Life. the visual style of the whole movie is amazing even when you're sober.

The best movies to trip to are Charlie and the choclate factory the newer Willy Wanka and Superbad and The Big Lebowski and Pink Floyde The Wall,and alot more!!!:smile:
