I highly suggest that you go to the nearest video retailer and spend 7.99 and pick yourself up a copy of OUTKAST: BOMBS OVER BAGDAD! You will never look at these guys the same again. This video is totally made with tripping in mind. The colors man, the colors! Pure creative genius! I don't like to watch t.v. while tripping because it stunts your creative ability, but i'll pop this vid in and watch it three or four times. it really kickes the trip into gear! If anyone else has experienced this shit let me know

Miss,
I bought Fantastic planet online at www.moviesunlimited.com They have both vhs and dvd.
The movie is actually about a race of blue giants called Traags who keep a human-like race called Oms as domesticated pets for their children. One of them escapes with a Traag learning device and meets up with a group of savage Oms and uses the knowledge in a revolt against the Traags.
This is must own for anybody who likes psychedelic animation.

You should get the Big Lebowski. And whatever 'legrouper' may say, Fear and Loathing is a must-see, also when sober

yellow submarine on weed [Re: Zahid]

my first or second most intense weed came from watching yellow submarine.
Me and my friend theorized that the people who created yellow submarine were people from an alternate universe and whenever something didn't make sense (like the sky being chairs or something crazy and insane like that) it would just be because that was such a fundamental truth that they didn't even consider the fact that the sky wouldn't be like that.
Like if we made a movie and tried to adapt it to another reality but we implemented, say, gravity. In the other universe gravity would have no meaning to them so it would be all weird and tripped out.
Never tried watching it on anything else, but i will soon. heh heh heh...

The best ever tripping movie is "The Holy Mountain". You can't get it legally, you have to get it from an import dealer. It's well worth it. I can post links if anyone is interested in buying it.

I never said anything bad about Fear and Loathing! I am the biggest F & L fan in the world, I watch it once every two weeks. I was just explaining that even after loving the movie so much I could understand that someone who was watching it sober could not relate to it and not make any sense of it. I watched it the first time sober and it just didn't click. Like I didn't get any of the reoccuring themes like when he is on the phone at the hotel and talking about the girl whose adrenal glands got cut out and then later when they do adrenochrome. When I was sober it was like I was standing on a giant masterpiece and I couldn't comprehend its greatness but when I saw it tripping I could see it from a distance and take in all its glory. And now when I see it sober it makes much more of an impact. F & L is a piece of art, not a movie, it is to be appreciated, not watched.
And Lebowski is definitely great trip material.

Thanks for the link Syd, I looked at it and that does seem like a cool ass trip flick. I will definitely check that out and let you know what I think. That was the kind of unknown movie I was looking for.

It's not really illegal to have a copy of The Holy Mountain, it's just never been released offically. You have to get a bootleged copy of it, as it was released on laserdisc in Japan and that's about it. The rights to it are owned by Allen Klien, who manged the Beatles during their later years. He refused to release it to video. I think he died, and now the rights are lost in some wierd legal tangle, and the director is trying to get good copies of the film for a DVD release. Allen was such an asshole, he stored the original negative print someplace where it just rotted away.
I got my copy from these guys:
http://www.videoscreams.com/
Their website is annoying as hell, but they have the cheapest prices. Any good import dealer should have this film. I can post links to other dealers if anybody neads them.

OK yall...the real deal is the TWILIGHT ZONE, without it, there would be no stephen king, or X files. The Twilight Zone opened the pathway for others to come...I get fucking goosebumps from these shows every time!! No other show can do that for me, thats because there is really no other show like it. Any of you who have seen the good episodes of it know what i'm talking about. I know some people who immediatley dismiss it, simply cuz its in black and white, but after i force them to watch it, they realize what a creepy, eerie, and even freaky show it really is, and the fact that it's in black and white makes it more authentic and even more surreal and creepier. Thank god for Rod Serling, he was a man ahead of his time. I hope someone out there who can appreciate the originality of the Twilight Zone will make a new series of it, hopefully in black and white too...

Yes, Princess Mononoke is the ultimate trip movie... the best Nature themes ever, beautiful animation... i love the forest spirits!!! I've also seen The Haunting in the theater on about an 1/8, that was damn fun, esp the scene in the bedroom when the face appears in the walls and cieling... I also saw Phantom Menace, but that was super gay. I couldn't stop laughing at that stupid little kid. The podrace was cool, but way too long, way too bad of acting. oh, and i assume the end of Contact would be too good for words.. even the dolby wormhole intro at a movie stunned me. Fantasia 2000 is a must, esp the last piece-good vs bad. simplistic natural themes is the best. no doubt
