Glocks Rock
    #3658113 - 01/21/05 11:28 AM (19 years, 2 months ago)

Hell motherfucking yeah. I thought they were mostly hype. But I shot one yesterday. I liked it a lot. Nice gun. The 9mm holds 17 shots in the standard clip too. They're sturdy as fuck. Pretty light, shot well, felt good in my hand, and holds 17 motherfucking shots in the regular clip. I'm getting one. The one I shot yesterday had a laser too, I aint getting that shit though, 300 bones for the damn laser alone. Fuck that. Although it would be nice to not even have to aim, just shoot when the dots on what you want to hit. Anyway, yeah. So that's the news. I'm buying a glock. And I think I got an ulcer. I cant eat anymore spicy food or it fucking kills my stomach, which is a real bitch.

Interesting Post for the Pub. I like it.

You should take a look at Sig's semiautomatic pistols. I much prefer them to the glock. You want a pistol without a manual safety. Last thing you want when you have to pull out your pistol is to forget and leave the safety on. You'll get your ass killed. And go for a .40.

Maybe I'm wrong but I didn't think that spicy food caused ulcers?

Not really. It's probably a pre-ban clip which is legal. I have two 31 round clips for my glock. I bought them at a gun show a couple years ago. They're not illegal to own/sell/trade. It's just illegal for companies to manufacture and sell them in the U.S. anymore.

Now I am confused. Are they still illegal now that you can buy automatic weapons legally?

You've always been able to buy automatic weapons. (Maybe you're thinking fully auto?) The law that banned assault rifles expired in september of 2004. It was only a 10 year ban and was not voted to be renewed again when september came around. An assaut rifle is classified as having 4 or more of these 5 criteria:

Calapsable stock
Pistol grip
Flash suppressor
Detatchable magazine
Bayonet stud

During the ban, companies could only manufacture civilian model rifles with only 3 of those 5 options. If you had a gun that was made before sept 1994 during the ban, it was still legal. But now companies can make and sell these weapons in the U.S. again.

No its sort of like a grandfather law if you can understand that. The clips made before the ban are legal to buy/sell trade and own but no company can make new ones any more. Also The brady bill has expired so im not sure what implications that leaves for assault weapons. Does anyone know? Can I got out and get a fully auto bushmaster at gun show now or what that would be sweet!  to guns.

No, you can't buy full auto weapons. They are still illegal even to own, much less to manufacture for sale in the U.S.

You cannot buy or possess automatic weapons unless you have a very hard to get and expensive license which few people have. Automatic weapons are ones that fire repeatedly when you hold the trigger down.

Semi-automatic weapons(weapons that fire one bullet for every trigger pull) are perfectly legal. The "Assault rifles" you are thinking of are semi-automatic and perfectly legal to buy and own.

Supernova, the Glock i shot didn't have a manual safety, it had a little leaver on the trigger but it didn't slow me down in anyway. What do you like better about the Sig's i might go try one.

You can drop glocks off of buildings, immerse them in mud, throw them in water, fire them underwater, have them run over, never clean them, and just generally treat them like shit and they will still fire properly. They are cool guns. I have a little .380 "Bersa" brand handgun that only holds 7 shots. It is of decent quality(230$ brand new) and would function well in a concealed carry or "by your bed in the nightstand" self-defense situation. It is reasonably accurate and seems solidly built. However, it definately is nothing to write home about as far as features and "coolness" goes.

you don't want to have to flip anything prior to firing. The sig is just a very well made pistol. I fired thousands of rounds and never had a jam, misfire, or any other problem with mine. Mine comes with two barrels, a .357sig and .40, which change out easily. The .357sig is a nice little short round that is good for practice. The .40 will stop a man dead but won't kill the person standing behind him, unlike a .45 that will go right through the first person and kill one or two more before stopping. You should test one out.
