My childhood was quite bucolic actually. But, my adolescence hit me like a line drive from Owen Meany.

Heh, sorry about that. I get carried away, It's fun though, no harm intended. You know I you...
Anyways, this one is cool.. I have to carry 500 ft extension cord into battle. I would go star wars style on your ass.

So if I hide, my enemy will always know where I am, they just follow the cord.
Just when they expect to get me, only the gun will lay behind the bushes.. and right as they see it, BANG staple gun to the back.

So out of all of the weaps, I think I'd go with the staple gun and use the rest as a decoy.

Just being goofy, I don't even fight in real life... only when someone rips me off in a drug deal. I never hand the money off first, and always check my stuff.. if it's fake, then I pull out the trusty musket on those bastards. </end sarcasm>

i dont know too much about guns, but i have gone shooting plenty of times. it's a great time, especially if you live on a lot of land and you can just set up a few targets behind the house. .45s are a lot of fun to shoot, but the bullets are expensive. my dad has a beretta .45 and that's always a good time. glock 9mms are fun, ammo is fairly cheap. and then you have .22 which basically have no recoil (depending on the weight of the barrel really). ammo is real cheap, you could fire it forever.
i dunno, i'd say start with a 9mm, can't go wrong with that. most people prefer glocks. they're very well rounded guns, and very reliable. they don't jam too often. beginners usually start with 9mms i think. if you really enjoy it then move up to a .45 from there.

When I buy myself a handgun, I'll be getting the 1911, I have to agree that there's a good reason for it's success.
But my second gun purchase will be something less practical but more impressive.
S&W Model 500, .50 caliber handgun. A man could kill a bear with one shot with one of these... plus it's a revolver, I love revolvers.
Surprisingly, it's supposed to have very low recoil considering it's large caliber. The review in Popular Mechanics was very impressive.

that barrel must weigh a ton for that thing to have low recoil.

It's a heavy fucker, but from what I recall they also devoted a lot of engineering effort into designing the grip for recoil dampening. My memory is hazy though, that article was published a long time ago.
