Prediction for 2008
    #3530345 - 12/22/04 02:03 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I think the Republicans will have John McCain running. John Edwards will most likely win the candidacy for the Democrats. Anyone agree/disagree? Just don't say Hillary, I'm not inclined to think she will be given the nod by the party, even if she runs for candidacy.

Jeb will wait until after the Dems get somebody in office. I wouldn't expect him until 2012 at the earliest.

Hopefully GWB will change the law and stick at it for a 3rd term...then after that, Arnie with a bit of luck, as long as GWB can prise himself away from the hotseat.

Hillary, The dems need to find their identity. I think they will try to define it with her, since acting and pretending to be like the republicans hasn't worked.

I was expecting a Giuliani ticket, but the recent scandal with Kerik will likely cancel that out.

i think that there is actually a very strong chance that bush will remain in office beyond 2009 ..a run on the US dollar seems iminent.. iraq has not given "the terrorists" any less reason to attack.. and any major crisis and/or something getting blown up will become a means for the far right to further consolidate power...depending on the magnitude..it could easily result in the laws being changed or suspended so as to allow 3 or more terms for bush...and even if thats not the case..the next administration will still be more radical...

Seriously the elections won't be postponed or called off.

I'd bet that would result in an armed revolt. Seriously.
It's never happened before and there's no call for it now.

Arnie can't run, he's not a natural-born citizen.
Hillary probably won't run, she's far-far-left and a woman, and that's one strike against you and another half.

The Democrats are going to have to find a personable, friendly, and steadfast candidate to run. I can't think of any offhand, but it'll need to be someone who actually has appeal outside of major metropolitan areas.. the rest of the country doesn't live in big cities because they realize how shitty they are, and those are really the only places democrats hold sway. Amongst people who don't realize how shitty cities are.

... to be honest, of the last crop of candidates they had, I'd say Al Sharpton looks best. If he could stop clamoring about racism. I'd call him much more honest than Kerry, much more respectable.

The Republicans.. no idea who they'd run. I know I'd probably vote for Tom Ridge, because he did do good things for PA while he was Governor.. but I don't think they'll run him. To take a guess, it'll probably be someone out of the blue, not associated with the current administration in any way.

She's a black female republican..
that's.. man. not possible.
i mean.. the congressional black caucus doesn't let black republicans in. it's just for democrats.. because if you're not a democrat you're not black apparently.
just.. wouldn't work out.
