Where is God?
    #339794 - 06/13/01 07:11 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

How many of you have walked into a forest lined with trees, grass, moss, ferns, flowers and the numerous forest animals and felt the energy flowing through everything, including you, the cool, calming nature of nature. Have you ever gone out to the woods pissed at the world only to return calm and ok with the world again. How may of you have sat in a cool mountain spring or under the trickle of a waterfall and felt all of your fears and worries drain off your back with the water?
Now I ask, How many of you have walked into a church and felt the air their, felt the sterility reminiscent of a hospital. Sat through a sermon and felt like sleeping or playing a video game, but feeling alive and energised when the choir raised their voices to sing, only to return to a bored tired state when they finish. But how many of you have felt the energy of a coven hall, or feel the emotions flare with the beat of a shamans drum or feel your soul flutter during a true Native American chant.

I ask where is God, is God in a church that demands money for your attendence or is God living amoung the animals in a forest. Is Gods power told through a sermon by a catholic minister or does Gods power pulse with every whistle on a pan flute or beat of the drum or sound of the didjeridoo or chant of a shaman. Is Gods creation best described in a book entitled "The Bible" or in a field of daisies or a steep jagged mountain peakin above the clouds and standing in contrast to the blue sky behind it. Is Gods wisdom displayed in a thousand scrolls locked in the Vatican basement or is it shown in the elderly man who survived 2 world wars and a great depression. Is Gods power heard through a lapell microphone or a ground shaking clap of thunder and 90 mile an hour winds raging through the trees?

What do you think?

In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud, Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Some say we find Him in the woods,
where the drumroll of the shaman is cutting through reality.
Some say we find Him in church,
where the soft voice of the preacher is making reality harder.
Some say we find Him within our hearts
where the love shines and reality doesn't matter.
Some others just never think about God,
The word makes no sense to them.
And those who know the anwer will never tell us,
Because they know that telling us
Will bring us further from the answer
And they also know that knowing the answer
makes not a smallest piece of difference.

But hushhhhh. Quiet. Enough of that.
Have you ever noticed that everything you see or hear
is no further from you then your eyes and ears?

"God" as it is called....is within everything. It is like a giant web that connects everything to everything else.
All it takes is to open your eye to see.
Though it may seem as though there are things that happen or places that God would not want to be. God is still there. For you see, all things...good and bad, happen for a reason. Because to God, there is no good and bad, it just is. Everything happens for a reason, to balance everything out. The universe is said to be chaotic, but it is really very very logical.

If God is everywhere, then is he also in hell?
Does that mean the devil is also everywhere and in everything?

If one looks at a leaf, should one then be able to say, "the tree is IN this leaf"? I think not.

Need I say more?

One is best to keep quiet while looking at a leaf. :)

Funny, though, you are implying that everything is "a part of God" rather then "made of God" as if these two statements are not equally meaningless....

And you are correct too... given your definition of God, of course...

I think my dog got reincarnated from a highly evolved being, because sometimes I catch him looking at me in the strangiest ways out of the corner of my eye, like hes waiting for me to wake up. then when I turn to look at him he returns to being the instinct driven little rat ; ).

I wonder sometimes...

If he is in your trunk then tell him that I want my shoes back! Never trust a vacuum cleaner salesman with long hair and a beard.

Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

This is a wierd post. Don't ask why I said that, just the general idea :) But the person who started this post has finally figured out that God is not where he thought He was. But somewhere else. Now, if he'd only understand that everyone else feels differently. To me. Going to church is so great. I love feeling the love I taking the sacrament and praying in a place made just for that matter. But I love sitting outside in a storm and saying pretty much. "God what a great way to teach everyone about balance. Yes, you're great and merciful but you can also show destruction. Plus with destruction comes new life." Basicly everyone finds "God" differently. Sometimes in church on a pew. SOmetimes on a rock in the forest. Does it really matter once you find him though? The end certainly justifies the trip you made to get there. But I ramble and have smoked a lot of weed. So this is just how I feel.
