Re: To those who've experienced egoloss [Re: deff]

Now to those of us who understand and know ourselves as the Being, the pure awareness beyond our minds and egos... A question for discussion:

Where does free-will fit in this?..... Aha!

Do I have a free will?

Find out who "I" is.

Does the mind have free will?

Find out whose mind it is.

My mind?

Who is me?

I am my mind.

The wings of the Bird named Free-will are hindered and no longer soars majestically amongst the dreamy clouds.. And forever waits to be freed... into the sapphire blue sky.

Free your inner freedom and fly...

Interesting thread. At the risk of being redundant I would like to elaborate on the concept of the "Middle Way". The Middle Way is not the mean of two extremes, or both existing at once, but a complete transendence of each, both, and neither. It is IS, the existence that is beyond conceptual thought. The Middle Way means neither existant, nor non-existant. This is because both are simply conceptual terms used in language and thought, they are not real things. The Middle Way is the truth beyond any possible mental or linguistic conceptualization.

Saying the middle way is beyond linguistic conception is a conception in itself, which nullifies your argument. You give a concept of the middle way then go onto say it can't be conceptualised. If it is a truth beyond any mental or linguistic conception then why bother mentioning it in the first place? Why follow a set of beliefs so closely when they are mere verbal interpretations of non-verbal reality? If it's all a matter of faith you may as well be a christian.

I just prefer to use terms and concepts that are well defined and logical. Using vague terminology conveys nothing but self importance. New age banter is a supreme expression of ego...be concise.

Well, free will in the generally accepted meaning, no.

We are the is of the is here, the pure awareness. So while the events that unfold around our being may be entirely dictated by determinsim, cause/effect, including our reactions to these events (a fallacy is assuming it is the 'self' that reacts) may not be free, the true state of being has no limitations.

It is timeless limitless void, preceiving itself through faucets of observatory points, all interconnected unto itself. It is limitless as it is infinite, but as soon as you diverge from this whole into individualized fragments, us here, this 'freedom' is lost.

The mind is the same. The mind has no owner, nothing has an owner. Ownership exists as a concept within the mind, meaning ownership of the mind is beyond our comprehension of ownership itself   But simply put, I don't see how anything can own a seperate thing, so that said, the collective whole "owns" the fragments of the whole.

We have to look beyond our'selves'

Through losing the bonds of concrete self (ego, ties to physical illusionary selves like mind, body, emotions, memories, ect...) we are 100% free. More than that, 100% implies not exceeding one. This is everything and nothing all swirling together.

Of course, freedom is a concept. Of the mind. I think you know what I mean...

There is NO Middle Way. There is NO anything. NO nothing. Nothing to to be negated by nothing in terms of nothing.

That is the Middle Way. It doesn't nullify my argument, words serve a purpose to represent and communicate something, but that something is not a word. The Middle Way is words, but it is reference to something that cannot be expressed verbally or conceptually. Of course talking about it is not knowing it, but that doesn't invalidate the concept. Makes perfect sense to me.

don't let linguistics serve to confuse the awareness

this is simple

Once again you describe a concept of the middle way then say it refers to something that can't be expressed in words. Why bother describing the concept with words when it can't be expressed in words?

Once you give a verbal description/interpretation of non-verbal reality, those words are subject to analyses and critique. Verbal descriptions of the middle way do not make sense.

Q. Does reaction come from mind/ego, and response come from Being/presence?

Eog recognises duality and with splits come pain. Get beyond duality vision and its all middle road. To get beyond duality vision, the darkness is integrated into the light, which gives you ultimately just the good side of things.

There is a difference.

Without the integration, the light fears and fights the dark because it still exists as a polar opposite.

They are the same.

Reaction usually implies physical action whereas response usually implies verbal action or thought. While this is a difference itself, both of these can be grouped into the general happenings of the 'mind'.

The presences does not conduct nor instruct actions. It observes. It is. While through cultivating awareness of the conscious being, one's mind may become less rigid to programmed responses, this is not the being itself. Rigid reactions and responses stem from the mind assuming itself as the source of existance, and not being revealed by the Being as only a fragment of its experience. When this happens, everything relaxes a tad, and more mindful approaches are taken.

And yet the Being never changed

(or something)

One can turn that around and say the light is intergrated into the dark leaving just the bad side of things. Afterall, egoloss can be hellish as some have said.

If the light is intergrated into the dark they would cancel each other out unless there was always more light to start with meaning unequal duality. If they are intergrated equally they would cancel each other out leaving no good or bad.

I don't want to argue it myself. What you said makes sense too, flies with me just the same.

I liked this analogy for dark and light.

Dark is like the film negative, or template that makes the color photo, what we can see 'Light" Once you have the color photo made out of the negative, you can ditch it.

Now we have digital cameras that don't use negatives.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm could it be technology mirroring ego loss or integration?

Ahahahahahahahaha

Seriously again, jesus was a fly dude, he wasn't walking around drooling in a pool of bliss nor was he a raving prick. He might be a good example of having them cancelled out.

all in all, I resonate with your original post ninja. I'm just adding ways I look at it when I care to, which isn't often cuz I feel like a dog chasing my tail.

ninjapixie, let go, seriously.

take a deep breathe

realize 'logic' is adopted

and just let it go, dissolve into the moment

and let the experience describe itself

So we're on the same page - albiet with semantic differences.

As one becomes more Beingful.. there are more "mind-full" [full of Being] reactions, yet I prefer to differentiate these type of actions from the un-beingful individual who may create "mind-less" [less of Being] reactions, with the word response.

So in other words, one who is more conscious, has a heightened ability to truly choose... whereas, someone who isn't really "there", i.e., not present, does not truly "choose", at least consciously.

Of course, the menu of choices usually come with parameters and limitations of their own... But that's okay.

I agree with that.

So long as you aren't implying it's the consciousness that does the choosing, so much as the observing of the now more-clarified choice

I don't want to let go because I'm having too much fun arguing.

I understand logic applies only to words. What we've been talking about are verbal interpretations of non-verbal experience. I'm not questioning the experience itself. Just traditional 'verbal' interpretations of that experience which don't make logical sense.

alright, I misinterpreted your word intepretations of others misinterpretations of experience using words. or something

I myself have found myself caught in logic traps like these, which prevent further development for a bit. but letting go always seems to work

Increase your dosage, or try a more potent specimen of fungi... or both.

Why do I say this?

Because it seems that you have not actually experienced ego-death as of yet. Correct me if I am wrong, but I will not 'argue', at least not for long, with the wits of an unexperienced/uninformed person.. Experience ego-loss for yourself... Then come see us.

Saying 'just let go' is like a christian saying 'you just gotta believe'

I was hoping this language game would be resolved though as I can't reconcile this theory with another theory of mine which is much closer to what everyone else has been saying (which I may post once this thread dies). To me verbal interpretations must make sense.

lol I know what egoloss is. Four hrs into a 24 hr cactus trip (1.5kgs pedro + bridgessi skin) taught me that. You go close to insanity 20hrs into a trip and you're still trippin balls.
