Why Do Presidents Come And Go?

I know that their are term limits but why is it that after a man is president, he fades into nothingness...?

Other leaders of other great nations stay in the light forever because they are great leaders and remembered as such...

Soo why is it that the US Presidency an End Game of sorts?

Depends on the president. Jimmy Carter has kept a fairly high profile since his presidency ended. Bill Clinton still does interviews on various shows with some frequency. George Bush Sr. can still be seen supporting his son for re-election.

Carter was once on the Simpsions... But what has any of them done for society but a small at best morality boost?

Did any of them ever get into any position where they couls have a REAL vote on anything?

Ever heard of Habitat For Humanity? Carter has done some awesome charity work, and has gotten a hell of a lot more accomplished since his presidency than during.

Lot's of Presidents are old, they get big pensions, and nothing they do from then on can really top having been President.

Carter's done A LOT of good stuff since he left office. He's probably fueled by feelings of inadaquecy from his time as president.

And I think he has the right idea. He went from being the most powerful person in the world to just being a carpenter of sorts. You probably can't top being president. You have to go back to the beginning and start from scratch.

My aunt is the National Director of Meals On Wheels. She does lots of political work and makes HUGE contributions to society..

Hardly president material..

I made this thread after some comercial where a bunch of people get to follow that Virgin Mega guy and one chick says "We Get To Meet Nelson Mandela"..

That stood out to me. He is a person who has made a lifetime of leadership contributions, so have MANY other leaders of nations..

Soo what about the US "Leaders"? Are they only puppets that we throw away when we are through with them?

If they were true leaders then they would be leaders forever.

Ill give you that Carter is a real leader but what hes done after being president is hardly worthy of world news.

Maybe its just too hard for any average person to make a diference in the US?
