LSD'rs - Clue me in...

Greetings, how's everyone gettin' along?
I'd like to ask the LSD folks in our mutual community a few questions. I'm making my first headway into the realm of LSD, and if anyone here could clear some things up, I'd be greatful. To make my experiences clear thus far, I've been shrooming on a typical basis every few months for the past 3 years. Through simple meditation, the right music, and a prepared mindset - I've managed to avoid having a bad trip for two of those years. I've learned to make tripping a real growth experience on both a physical and cognitive plane. My substance past is pretty much the opposite of my collective friends, and this community... meaning that I've never really been crazy about Marijuana; on the flipside, I've been using Cocaine on a consistent basis for five years. That said, I've taken an intense liking to tripping like I have to no other self-induced sensation.
When I decided I was going to try LSD for the first time a month ago, I started asking around within my circle of trusted close friends and reading around websites, texts, and even quite a bit on Albert Hoffman. I was shocked to learn some of the things I came to understand - and even more baffled as to why so many ridiculous myths (moreso than any other substance, in my opinion) came to be the gospel to many different individuals... some of whom, I respected very much. (i.e. The "legally insane" shit; the blue star tattoo lies; the chromosone alteration bullshit, etc.) Basically, I've learned all I can get out of this information pertaining to the basic state the substance reduces you to, and the chemistry behind this. Problem is, I still have a few basic questions I wanted to bring to you folks...
Based on my first one-blotter hit -
Would you suggest I start small on the level of intensity related to the amount ingested, as with shrooms, and work my way up?
How necessary is a trip sitter?
Is it as emotionally attatched as mushrooms? (For instance, my favorite thing to do was to trip while it was snowing; I feel great during the Holidays and it always resulted in an amazing time.)
Is it as important to space time between trips with LSD as it is with mushrooms?
Could you explain the role of music on shrooms contrasted with the role of music on LSD?
Finally... if there was one thing you could have told yourself before you tried LSD, what would it be?
Thank you very much. All advice is appreciated very much. Keep it real.

You're certainly going at it with the right things in my mind. Always good to see people educate themselves before they indulge
For me, mushrooms are internal and acid external. On mushrooms, music is more likely to make me feel emotions from the music, while acid will make me appreciate the fact that music has the power to make me feel emotions. I can't speak much on tolerance issues of LSD since I always space my acid trips out by at least a week.
My first time tripping LSD I went all out and took 4 very potent blotters and had an amazing trip. If you're prepared, which it sounds like you are, then you really have nothing to worry about. Don't worry about a trip sitter, they'll just get in your way. I do reccomend though tripping with some close friends. Nothing is better than tripping with your best friends

What "Smoker for Peace" said, right on the nose....
I would only add that if you feel that you are starting to have a bad trip, calm down and remember nothing bad will happen to you.... They are mind altering chemicals that make you think.... If you start in on the "bad thoughts" loop, put them out of your mind if you can.... If not, analize them and find a resolve to them.... A "bad" trip can be one of the most profound things in your life if you use it as a tool....
Happy tripping...!

These are just my OPINIONS from my own personal experiences

It's probably a good idea so you dont end up way over your head

personally i think its kinda important the first couple times, and also if you are plannign to take a high dose. Once you get a better feel of the chemical then a tripsitter become less necessary (though they can still be valuable). I have had a lot of trips on both without sitters though and they have been great

um....im not really sure what this means.....but yea if your in a good mood before the trip the lsd will build on that

yes

For me personally, LSD affects music waaaaaaaaaay differently than mushrooms. I cant really explain it....shrooms make music sound really cool, but with LSD, it becomes a colorful river to travel on

I woulda told myself "shut up you'll like it" happy trails

I took a high dose of fluff the first time I tripped, and it was the most incredible and mind-blowing experience of my life. You definately need to space the trips out, I find 2 weeks works best, though 1 will do. You should have a trip sitter, but I usually don't have one, and I didn't have one on my 2nd trip...but this is just me, you gotta see how you'll react and how you'll handle the difficult rides. I can do it, and personally, I kinda prefer solo trips though i've done them so much i'm ready for a change. That's just me though, you gotta know yourself before you can do that. Nothing, not even DPT is better for music then LSD. It sounds absolutely incredible, and you don't just hear it. You see it, taste it, feel it. The experience of listening to music on an acid trip is beyond words, you'll understand that soon enough, it is absolutely incredible. Oh, as far as emotions go, it's not as emotional as shrooms, and I find this to be a good thing. Acid is extremely blissful and makes me feel damn good, it is waaaaayyyy better than X, in fact I like it better then hippy-flipping. You do experience emotions, but on shrooms the emotions tend to control me and can send me into loops. On acid the emotions are just a part of the experience, and even sad feeling feel good. When i'm on acid, i'm not human, i'm far above humanity, practically godlike especially during egoloss, then there is no me. It's like surfing an electric Niagra Falls of cosmic conciousness. There's a lot more I could say, but i'll leave it at this. Happy trails brother!!!

- You have enough tripping experience on shrooms, so don't be afraid do do a single blotter hit. If you know what that does you can increase the dose the next time you trip if you like. Beware that the dose can differ between batches and even within one batch.
- Although it can never hurt to have a trip sitter, imo it isn't trictly necessary to have one, again because you already have tripping experience on shrooms.
- For me acid is as emotional as shrooms, but with a slightly different character. Shrooms give a somewhat more "familiar" feel to the trip (to me) while acid feels "alienated" (in an interesting way).
- It is always wise to space psychedelic experiences by at least one week apart, preferably several.
- On shrooms music is great, on acid music is so amazing that this alone is worth trying it.
- I would have told myself: "Acid gives even less direction to the trip than shrooms, so set and setting are even more important. Acid keeps me awake for a LONG time, depending on the dose from 12 to 20 hours. And don't combine with pot. For me this doesn't work (creates paranoia), although for some others it works fine."

I've only tried Lsd twice, but both times I felt that it didn'd even come close to the mushroom experience. Lsd felt more chemically induced/unnatural, where as shrooms feel more natural. I found the visuals on acid unpleasantly harsh, where as mushrooms are more beautiful. For me, mushrooms are the better option, the only problem is they don't last for long enough, where as acid will give you 8 hours plus! Anyway, see what you think. Maybe, the acid I tried was not particularly good. Good luck and let us know how you got on.

about music
lsd always seems to make good music sound fucking amazing, love listening to music on acid. the music makes the trip flow in a way, you ride the trip on the music! youll see what i mean when you get there. drastic changes in music causes drastic changes with everything else, i remember one time when i was listening to a mix tape and the dj slowed the pitch all the way down on a tune and it was like everything else that was happening slowed right down with the music! like watching slow motion replays on tv.
mushrooms (depending on dosage) makes me connect with music more??? listening to jimi hendrix once and i swear for that moment in time jimis words and music was expressing everything i was feeling. hard to explain. but if too much shrooms are done then music can get a bit too much! "HOW LONG DOES THIS FUCKING SONG HAVE TO GO ON FOR??? ITS BEEN PLAYING FOR AN HOUR I SWEAR!!" etc etc

Doing fine Wish I had some acid like you did, but nonetheless I'm well.
If you like mushrooms, you'll love LSD.
IME, the best way I can describe it is a lightning bolt up your ass. On mushrooms, I wanna sit and let the mindfucking begin and just trip out. On acid, I wanna run around the yard, play on swings, monkeybars, look at the stars (with the still-to-this-day-amazes-me telescopic vision) etc. It doesn't feel like my head is frying so bad, altho some will disagree. Weed + shrooms = mindfuck, but not so much on LSD. I feel more grounded, and it just gets better with the ganj.
Glad you read up and debunked those shitty myths.
Its not very necessary to have a sitter, especially with your shroom experience, but don't forget you're gonna be fryin 12-16 hours. Might get lonely.
On the subject of snow/winter.. I'm glad to find someone else who actually likes winter tripping! A cool, crisp night with freshly fallen snow and footprints that warp and start making themselves in random directions, the clear sky, glittering rainbow icicles.. The stillness.
Wait a week or two to minimize tolerance issues as some have may said above, didn't read thread, just woke up.
On shrooms I usually just wanna listen to ambient, trance, techno. On acid I can listen to anything and it'll sound great. I even had a metal mix CD with some death metal on it and I was totally diggin it like I normally would. If I was on shrooms my room probably would've turned into a coffin and I woulda tried to stab my way out. I find the spectrum is widened.
Hmm, one thing I coulda told myself before my first time? Take more.

If you can handle a shroom trip with out issue lsd should be just fine.
I am more apt to go into a bad time on a high dose of shrooms then lsd.

Yup. You want your first experience on acid to be totally, completely, absolutely mindblowing. Don't take one hit. Take 2 or 3. If you know you're ready for it (I think you are) it will be the experience of your life to date.
