Smell is not a good indicator. Usually noticeable smells are only when something is so far gone it’s a hazard just keeping it around. But no smell is not a guarantee of it being axenic.

I see what you are saying now fiddie, creamy in spots. Good looking out:mushroom2:

Fire, if thats your only project, you could still send it to bulk to test your luck. If you'd like to salvage the genetics you can learn Agar and clean up the culture.:mushroom2:

nope, it's fine.

You can try mixing it with a milk frother to help dissolve next time.

I already have some plates running, currently T2. They don't seem clean enough yet (maybe one is, we'll see).
I'm going to send it anyways, to see what I will get.
Currently have 4 jars of brown rice on the PC waiting to be used with the agar, hopefully it will be better.

This one is contaminated, but the growth looks rhizomorphic to me, so I tried a transfer to see if I could save it:

This one looks clean, but I'll wait a bit longer to be sure:

Bottom one def looks better. Your transfers are a little on the big side, and kind of irregular in shape, which can lead to the growth looking a little weird/uneven. Grabbing a nice little equilateral triangle is your best bet and will make the growth a little easier to decipher, just my .02

@PastyWhyte

Do you still use your EZ-Dial tubs? I searched high and low for the 66qt purple handled sterlite tubs and finally found them locally.

what are your temps and rH in your environment? If I may ask.

I'm currently using one to run Beef's AIO rescue tek, and i'm thinking when its done that im going to run a few of your EZ-Dial tubs, so far its been awesome.

Hey firebird
You might wanna try this method of transfer. There are similar variations.

I do and up where I live it's cold and dry. The ez dial is perfect for standard bulk, you want to have about 20 quarts of media (grain and bulk combined) in the tub to maintain the RH.
