I confess - I’m in the same boat as JLP. I think there are redeeming members in all boards, and some that aren’t, too. I first posted in OTD way back when I first joined and got chased out pretty quick like a whipped puppy.

Anywho, the fireworks were entertaining and livened the place up. With that being said I’d like to leave OTD at the door, have a chat, share some knowledge and talk a bit of shit and just generally have a good time.

More to the point, I discovered very recently (as in last week recently) that mush cult is a very active part of the forums. Before that I thought it was essentially just archived knowledge/threads, and that the Pub was the most active part of the site. I’ve been searching bodhisatta‘s profile and just clicking through his sig every time I needed to revisit teks for weeks - before discovering here.

I’ve currently got 3 of my first ‘ever’ cakes fruiting using spores that were kindly sent to me by flapping_bird about a year ago to get started. It’s been fun learning the ropes and I’ve been learning the fun of contamination after losing 11/14 of my most recent jars to trich. That’s about all for now - but a small part of me thinks it’d be hilarious to pull some beginners luck and grow some cake wars monsters,

Hell yeah, nuds.  Sometimes I just click on random pages of the ask quick questions get quick answers thread because there's so much to learn from all that troubleshooting.

Flapping_bird is the genuine article as well, sent really nice spore prints to me too. I grew some cakes with one and put another to agar and got a decent tub.

The general discussion thread, both confessionals, and potd has hidden gold throughout too

Great to see you on this side of town!:hatsoff: hey, three cakes is better than no cakes, glad it hasn't been total loss.

I confess I dumped 5 qts of grain earlier because im really good at making mistakes :awesomenod::mushroom2: my errors have made a solid amount of compost this year, even the wheat sprouted that I soaked too long last month:rofl:

Yeah I’ve been reading the ask quick questions thread religiously for a week or so now. All of mush cult actually moves so fast (as in plenty of activity) that it’s actually hard to read it all. A good problem to have.

I’ve been essentially ‘homeless’ for the past 3 years travelling full time around the world. Getting to a place where I knew I’d be settled in for a while brought that itch back to source psychedelics again, and finally complete my own grows, which brought my return to the site about a year ago, spores from flapping_bird etc., and I was shocked at how quiet it seemed.

I made a thread in the pub at the time asking if they thought the Shroomery was dying, because it was the slowest I’d ever seen it. It’s good to see that at least one part of the site is well and truly bumping.

This Thread moves hella fast! I'm 6 pages behind and I was logged in last night!

Would love to be able to keep up with everyone but this thread is moving faster than i can keep up with.

&& Yo @Tryp, tossing the MP-Tape and flipping the lids has helped a BUNCH. Thanks for the recommendation. 2 days in and a whole load of pins now.

Thank you!

From the start I wanted to abstain from being part of all this commotion — but I've been coming across it for days on the forum and I'd like to share what I think, from my irrelevant position as a regular user.

I've been here for a short time in a continuous and active way. Out of ignorance — instead of saying hello and introducing myself in New User Welcome Wagon, I did it in The Pub. There was minimal feedback, nothing more, but just enough to feel "Welcome".

I didn't go through OTD — because I came here for the cultivation. These kinds of sections have always seemed to me for people who have already been on the forum for a while (they know each other, share things, that kind of stuff). Later I discovered the Confessional — I found it amusing and since it was in the same section as my interest — it was right there. I tried to participate — better or worse, but I did.

I lack knowledge of all the users who have been here for a long time and who contributed to the community, their merits, sense of humor or ways of speaking. I haven't participated in OTD and I haven't come across "hate messages". And I don't feel comfortable when the situation pushes toward polarization.

And I understand that there are a multitude of contrary behaviors in the society I live in — some more invasive and others less. And whether I like it or not, the world will never adapt to my preferences. I've seen many paradoxes in the behavior of people immersed in their doctrines, that surprised me — on both sides.

We are 8 billion people, we have more to choose from than a miserable life allows us. I don't think it's reasonable to waste the limited time of this miserable existence trying to come out right against someone we already consider an idiot from the start. Much less in one of so many corners of the internet.

I act in the street — not everyone likes me. There are some who try to ridicule me, others who show their contempt and more. And I accept that, I accept everyone — as in cultivation — there is a percentage of exceptional success, mediocre results or contamination. And that doesn't stop us from cultivating.

Jazz isn't for everyone. I don't give a damn about your Heavy Metal that makes chest hair grow on me — but that doesn't mean I don't admire and appreciate you for everything I've received. But it wasn't pleasant at all to see this shitty topic during these days taking over the Confessional. These are situations that make me lose confidence in sharing my experiences, joys, fears, existential crap here.

By being the living example of what one considers correct — that is more than enough — there's no need to prove anything or convince anyone. There's no point in convincing anyone that you are the person you are.

The internet is full of atrocities, the world is full of atrocities — it's a quality. There are those who need a beggar in order to give outlet to their goodness. It's difficult to judge...

That reminds me i need to let down a potential parter covered in red flags

At that time I was still living with my mum, eating as much LSD as I could and forbidden to grow mushrooms under her roof

Geo posted some stats on that thread, and it seemed that numbers across the site had actually remained pretty steady. I can’t remember if they went back so far though, because my memory says the whole site used to definitely hum a long a few gears higher.

If I’ve learned anything about relationships it’s that when the other person shows you they’re bad intentions, you should heed that shit. It’s not easy but I’ve at least learned that after a pile of relationship trauma.
