my issue is i cant get hard wood pellets. only available are softwood pellets (cedar) from confier trees. which i think they are growing from in the wild(?).

would that make sense to use?

ive seen people growing it from straight coir in that thread.

Fellow noob taking on the gymn challenge, so take everything I say with a heavy dose of salt. There's little hard and fast knowledge about growing gymns, so it's difficult to get solid recommendation ime. There's been a little discussion about ph adjusted softwood being successful with gymns, but general convention would suggest that it's not a great bet. Cedar particularly is very rot resistant. Maybe consider going out in the woods and sourcing some fallen hardwood to process into substrate yourself, either as shavings or sawdust depending on what tools you have available to you.

I like this idea, very similar to something I was doing way back when I was messing around with the idea of reusable substrate.

Def an interesting idea, there'd have to be some way of turning it off I feel, or modulating how much its producing by not giving it the precursor material/giving it lots to increase production. Also wonder how tolerance would come into play. Also also, curious how long term psilocybin would effect depression. Speaking personally, I had a good month run of just casually eating a few mushrooms every 2-3 days and it definitely kinda made me sad as fuck lol. I already struggle with depression.

Microdosing is more regimented than that, and an antibiotic could wipe em out

Hey, I've been half following the convo about Gymn substrates. I only have limited experience with one species, luteus.

They readily colonized sterilized chips and pinned furiously, but never got past pin stage.
Colonized coir so-so and never fruited off it.
Formed very rhizomorphic growth on hwfp and fruited off it.

Then I tried softwood fuel pallets and for whatever reason the myc refused to even jump. So. My 2C

Also I tooted churp for being a lowbrow puppet, it's so obvious.
I also added them both to my nazi watchlist in my journal, so we can watch them

For me, a LARGE mushroom dose every 3-6 weeks keeps the repetitive depressive thoughts from swirling the drain of my mind. I still get them from time to time, but they're easier to push away. After about 6 weeks I start to really ruminate on them and then the rest of depression symptoms set in.

You mean to tell me that taking unknown amounts at random intervals isn't regimented?? lol
I'm def due for a big dose, just need to carve out a little time for it.

With a big enough dose... time will create itself FOR you.
